Looks like the Cockney Mafia is going to get its way... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1336637/Newcastle-line-Alan-Pardew-replace-Chris-Hughton.html -
And nowhere near the WOW factor. In my opinion, taking a step backwards

I seem to recall that total control of the club in all matters was given to NC by ML when he was appointed as Chairman and ML was taking a back seat. Based on those facts, to be honest, I am a little surprised as to how many home games he actually attended last season.

As stated in the Wikipedia entry for Bill Foulkes 'After winning the European Cup, Foulkes felt he had achieved all he could and wished to retire. However, Busby managed to convince him to stay for 2 more years. The next season, United finished 11th in the league. In the 1969-70 season, Wilf McGuinness (who had played alongside Foulkes in the late 1950s) replaced the retiring Busby as manager of United. Foulkes played only 3 games under McGuinness, the last coming in a 1–4 loss against Southampton at Old Trafford on 16 August 1969. By this stage, he was the oldest player in the team at the age of 37'

I agree. In the interview, he plainly states that there is no rift between him and Pardew. -
I agree 100% A real gentleman vs a frickin' retard

Looks like he has gone into administration like his beloved football club!! http://www.thepfc.com/

As to be expected from Storrieteller, it was nothing to do with me guv!! http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/A-Statement-From-Peter-Storrie-674.aspx

"After the South Coast Derby on the 13th February 2010, Storrie was shaken up after a horrifying ordeal where a Southampton fan waved a five pound note in his face, the poor dear was terrified having never seen such a large sum of money. In March 2010 Storrie will oversee the winding up of Portsmouth FC and will personally enourage its fans to support Southampton instead. However Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese has vowed to turn these fans away, when asked for a reason he siad that Southampton Owner and legitimate billionaire "didn't want the smell of stale urine and dead fish lingering in the stadium." Somebody is having fun on Storrie's Wikipedia entry under the Portsmouth section of the article!!

He was born in Winchester, so may just be visiting family and relatives. Who knows?

From friends of mine here in Lincoln, I am led to believe that Pulis will be sent back, not 100% sure though.

Personal accident for himself?

Really hoping to see Ron back in Southampton in 2010, even if only for a visit.

Merry Christmas and season's best wishes to you all and thanks for doing an excellent job running this web forum. Certainly kept me up to date with Saints news and developments which is fantastic for those of us no longer living in the Southampton area. Had a few laughs as well, reading some of the posts; must say that Southampton wit, humour, and sarcasm is still one of the best in the country.

Great read... Another notch in the feel good factor belt

Agree 100%

He hasn't even played for them for the last couple of weeks as he has been sidelined with an ankle injury.

Tim, thanks for your excellent and informative updates. Like Ron, we lived abroad for many years (in my case the Middle East for 20 years), and was also adverse to coming back home even seriously considering moving to Thailand when my contract was finished. However 5 years ago, we moved back to the UK, initially with some reservations, but now, we do not regret our decision at all. Coming back home to our roots has proven to be the right decision. After all, your origins account for a lot and although there are many things we are still not happy about, it is outweighed by the benefits of being in your country of birth and the familiarity that this brings. I hope that one day Ron realizes this and comes home where I am sure that everybody will ensure that he settles back in with minimal problems. I am assuming of course, that he still has family members back here in the UK.

With his aspirations of being an international footballer, there must be loads of clubs back in Poland, that would welcome him with open arms.... He should realise that the gravy train pulled out of the station a long time ago!

Looks as though Feeney will be on his way according to this article. To where is anyone's guess http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/cardiff-city-fc/2009/11/17/feeney-facing-up-to-a-future-away-from-cardiff-91466-25182149/

I agree with 19C. Let's move on and enjoy the new environment. McMenemy opens his mouth when it suits him, but who really listens to his opnions these days
