Attempt at what? Trolling? Least of my worries. Convincing you Mayuka is a decent player? Already given up on that. Sounding clever? Wasn't trying to be. I gave myself a . What am I so bad at that I only get a 1/10?

Adam Szalai from FSV Mainz. We'd then have two of the best 10 strikers in Europe on our books. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1515632-ranking-europes-10-best-strikers

Do I sense a closet racist? Unless Mayuka made out with your woman, that is the only logical conclusion.

Same can be said for Forren. But the lad's a Norwegian international and cost a whopping £4m! So apparently he is first choice CB next season and Yoshida/Lovren have to battle it out for his partnership...

It's just like 1991 all over again...

Not that I was old enough to know what footie was back then, but surely Dowie could not of been worse than some of the dross of the past 10 or so years like McCann, Idiakez, Delgado, etc? -
The lad's only "bad" performance I recall was against Sunderland (and at Leeds, apparently). Other than that he was between solid (i.e. above average) to VERY impressive (aforementioned Spurs). Never put a foot wrong in the very few times he was called upon. On a performance-to-appearance ratio he beats Ramirez, the darling of SWF, in almost every category and by some margin.
-
Yep, he was given opportunity after opportunity and game after game to prove his worth and still failed.
-
Mind you we're better off doing that than having another Ramirez in our books.
-
Were you at the Spurs game by any chance? Beat his man ON THE OUTSIDE on several occasions playing wide, drawing a foul from (was it Vertognhen?) eventually after running the poor defender ragged in a fifteen minute cameo. Mayuka will take the premier league by storm next season. Mark my words.

This thread is going nowhere til he goes somewhere.

Plenty of archived videos of Lovren in the champions league and Ligue 1. Watched highlights and snippets (including an entire game vs Madrid). Soooooooo error prone! Does not fill me with confidence at all. The U21's Liverpool game for Forren and while decent on the ball, his positioning and general defending off the ball is absolutely appalling and he will get raped by top quality prem strikers IMO!
-
Yoshida 1st choice no question about it. A different class to all the rest. Fonte to partner him in the first few games. Depending on performances may rotate him with Hooiveld later on in the season. Honestly from what I've seen so far from both Forren and Lovren I can't believe a total of £12m was shelled out for that dross. What a joke.

Let's just outbid them FFS! Come on Don, get the chequebook out! Make our money worthwhile - we promise we'll all buy the new shirt if you nick us this one! (at least I will)
-
What an arrogant little ****. Who does he think he is turning us down? We'll show him just what he missed out on when we take the league by storm next season! Never needed nor wanted him in the first place - overrated, overhyped and overpriced. Hope he rots in that sorry excuse of a little Italian club.
-
Petered out badly after Adkins left. Easily our best player November-December-mid-January. Never fully recovered from Nige leaving IMO and you could tell by his performances later in the season. Also possibly burn out/fatigue for a youngster?

To be fair MP's announcement as manager came less than 24 hours after ANYONE had known ANYTHING about it. Speculation only started late afternoon the day prior (17th?). If there's one thing the Don is very good at it's keeping secrets and I'm trusting/hoping he will have a pleasant surprise for us in the not too distant future.
