  1. Another Government U turn.
  2. The reason we didn't 'leave' until then was through the incompetence of a Government that had no idea what had actually been promised, and no clue as to what they wanted Brexit to look like. This should have been clear before the vote ever took place. Regardless of what date you reference, we are still waiting to find out how we are better off out of the EU.
  3. My favourite response to Trick or Treaters is to open the front door holding the collar of one of our 2 big dogs, and tell the T or T'er "The treat is to let you reach the gate before I let go of the dog, the trick is I might be fibbing". ( Both dogs are big softies, but they have loud barks. Now if I had hold of the Jack Russell cross breed.............. )
  4. Reports that Tory MPs were physically manhandled through the NO lobby.

  6. From the BBC: "Paul Goodman, the rather well-informed editor of Tory grassroots website Conservative Home, reports that the outgoing home secretary had a row with Downing St about migration policy. In a tweet, Goodman says Braverman was under pressure from No 10 to announce a "liberalising migration plan that would make it easier for the OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility) to say the government would hit its growth target"."
  7. And now the fracking vote is NOT a confidence issue. The country does not deserve this.
  8. Truss having to appoint Rishi supporters must hurt.
  9. Or simply know they will lose their seats, so why not go out with a big "fuck you".
  10. Cruella's letter, part 2; It is obvious to everyone that we are going through a tumultuous time. I have concerns about the direction of this government. "Not only have we broken key pledges that were promised to our voters, but I have had serious concerns about this government's commitment to honoring manifesto commitments, such as reducing overall migration numbers and stopping illegal migration, particularly the dangerous small boats crossings. "It has been a great honour to serve at the Home Office, in even the brief time that I have been here, it has been very clear that there is much to do, in terms of delivering on the priorities of the British people. "They deserve policing they can respect, an immigration policy they want and voted for in such unambiguous numbers at the last election, and laws which serve the public good, and not the interests of selfish protestors. "I am very grateful to all of my officials, special advisers and ministerial team for all of their help during my time as Home Secretary. "I especially would like to pay tribute to the heroic policemen and women and all those who work at Border Force and in our security services. To oversee Operation Bridges - the largest policing operation in a generation - was a great honour and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve.
  11. Mrs B reckons this was a deliberate 'accident' to give Cruella credible distance from the coming train wreck.
  12. The deputy chair of the 1922 committee has submitted a letter of no confidence in the PM to Sir Graham Brady; he wants to vote with Labour in the fracking vote, and objects to being forced to go against his wishes and conscience due to the 3 line whip.
  13. How many more holes below the waterline can this particular ship survive ?

  15. There is a Commons vote this evening on a Labour proposal to introduce a formal ban on fracking. The Tory leadership have made this a three line whip confidence vote. This means that Conservative MPs who oppose fracking are being forced to vote in favour of it. Additionally, if the Government lose they should, technically, have to resign.
  16. Which must be news to James Cleverley, who was on TV this morning defending the decision to break the triple lock.
  17. No we have a U turn over the U turn on pensions. She is spinning like a top.
  18. At this precise moment in time we are having the external walls of the house insulated ahead of a heat pump being installed.

    Russia

I think the Ukrainians will cut Kherson off and isolate it whilst trying to avoid urban fighting. Under those circumstances, I don't thin any remaining Russians would wait long before capitulation.
  20. Living where we do, we always get at least a couple of significant power cuts each winter. This means we are well stocked up with candles and lanterns, and if we have to we can cook on the log burning stove, or the pizza oven and barbecue bowl in the garden.

"At this rate, the next PM will be the chasm where Suella Braverman’s soul should be" https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/oct/17/liz-truss-next-prime-minister-chasm-suella-braverman-soul "The Tory party is already lining up its next leader, running through all its MPs in ever-decreasing quality"
  23. Been there, bought the T-shirt, got made redundant. But some smart arses will be along talking about 'non-jobs', and how much easier the Public Sector have it compared to the private.
