  1. No need to panic, Greggs are stockpiling pork in case of a no-deal. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49890034
  2. But under FPTP the opposition votes would be spread, Lab/Lib in England, SNP/Lib in Scotland, and Plaid/Lab in Wales so whilst they might collectively garner a majority of the votes, unless the Brexit bunch significantly split the Tory vote, ( without taking too many from Labour ), the Tories could still end up as the biggest party at Westminster. An electoral pact between the opposition parties, however, might change things in their collective favour.
  3. Always has been, the referendum was only ever about mollifying the right wing of the Conservative party.
  4. Finger
  5. It would be interesting to see how a "semi open" border would work in practice. The official count gives 208 identified crossing points, unofficially estimates put it as high as 275.
  6. What have I told you about politicians' promises.
  7. Ditto with leavers if remain won. Pandora's box was levered open by Cameron, and all the evils released will not be put back inside.
  8. Qué ? I didn't pay too much attention to "Project Fear", as I had little more than contempt for Cameron and Osborne, and I have always viewed Farage as a self-interested and completely untrustworthy, loathsome, chancer.
  9. Well, one group of them are. The fantasists on the other side are saying it's the best outcome.
  10. I know I was lied to, by both sides, which is why I made up my own mind based on my own knowledge and understanding, and decided that to leave the EU was, and still is, a bad idea.

  12. At least we are used to it.
  13. When they moved Sissoko to RB we started to have a lot of success down our left, but after about 15 minutes of the 2nd half we stopped getting in behind him as, time after time, we got level with the penalty area and turned infield and looked back for the pass. As others have said, how much energy did Bertrand expend getting past on the overlap, only to be completely ignored.
  14. Not good enough - predictable, laboured, toothless and clueless in attack. And for those questioning the drop ball near the end, that's the rule; the ball goes to the defending team, uncontested.
  15. If his local bobbies are anything like the Cleveland force, there wouldn't be much point.
  16. Vest off, Valery on, back 4.
  17. Brings a complete lack of pace to the full back position.
  18. A quiet night in the Badger household, as my City supporting wife studiously avoids asking me how the match is going.
  19. But they may be a bit blue.
  20. A lovely example of fluid nationality; Pieter Labuschagne is a South African playing for and captaining Japan, whilst his brother Marnus plays cricket for Australia.
  21. EU saying they are ready for no-deal, pity we aren't.
  22. This post ranks right up there with other classics of yours on the Pompey Takeover thread. A succinct and accurate summary presented in the best tradition of British satirical put-down.
  23. No, only the potentially violent nutters, ( whatever their political affiliation ), are likely to turn out to be so, but it is likely that most, if not all, of that group voted leave, based on the current weight of evidence. A leave result in the referendum was always likely to encourage this sort of activity, so people with such tendencies would have been drawn to it.
