Didn't DC say that if there was a vote to leave he would be obliged to invoke Article 50 immediately ? Also, legally the referendum was a non-binding advisory process, as referenda are in this country - only the PR vote had clauses making it enforceable.

A large part of Wellington's 'British' army were Germans - Hannoverians, Brunswickers, and Nassauers, plus a number of Dutch / Belgians. Only 25 thousand of his 67 thousand were British, ( many actually Irish - as was Wellington himself ). It was in truth a European army.

Bloody softie southerners.

I don't know, but it IS what they said, so maybe you should be asking them how THEY expected it to happen. After all, you fell for it.

But you see, I haven't thrown my toys out of the pram. I'm disappointed, but no more than having the Tories in government. The sun is shining, I'm still breathing, all my limbs are functioning, and England won the cricket yesterday. Maybe Brexit will prove to be a good thing, maybe it won't, but we'll probably never be sure because we won't be able to compare with the situation where the UK remained within the EU. Maybe you'll be able to crow "I told you so", in 10 years time, maybe you'll grow to regret the consequences of Thursday's result. But look on the bright side, the footie season will be here soon. Chin up !!

But the fact that they pointed this out repeatedly was clearly intended to plant the suggestion that it would be spent on the NHS.

‘In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third that ends it.’ - Nigel Farage Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2016/06/24/remember-that-time-nigel-farage-said-52-48-votes-should-lead-to-second-referendum-5963900/#ixzz4CZe41oB2

On the basis that our house voted 100% to remain, 4 votes to 0, my wife has declared UDI.

As The Who put it in 1971, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
-
As any new member must be approved by all member states, this was always going to be the case, but the SNP will try to dismiss it.
-
Hence the view that this was a protest vote, as much anti-DC as anti-EU.
-
Technically, the result is only 'advisary'.

Wales voted leave, so it'll probably turn out to be Chris Coleman.

"If we leave the EU, the £350 million saved each day can go to the NHS".

AIRBUS boss : "Britain will suffer," he goes on to warn, before adding: "Of course we will review our UK investment strategy, like everybody else will."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/business-36561095 Sources within Morgan Stanley say it has already begun the process of moving about 2,000 of its London-based investment banking staff to Dublin or Frankfurt. And it has a taskforce in place.

But he was the catalyst for the whole shebang, and played a prominent role in the Brexit campaign. As the interview continued, "How many people were influenced to vote leave on the basis of that 'mistake' ?"
-
Susanna Reid to Nigel Farage "So will the £ 350 million go to the NHS as promised ?" Farage replies "It was a mistake to say that."

Bet the Gibraltarians feel shafted.

Comments under that tweet referring to Remain voters as 'traitors' show how the announcement of the result, whichever way it goes, will leave a huge divide in the country.
-
A perfect example of why FPTP is not democratic, the majority view is suppressed by manipulation of the system.

Got a leaflet through the door today informing me that our road is one of those most likely to vote to leave, which is strange as most of our neighbours are, AFAIK, in the Remain camp, ( including all 4 votes in our house ). As soon as the chap who delivered it had gone back through the front gate I went out, tore it up, and put it in the bin, whistling La Marseillaise, knowing that he was still within earshot.

There's always that first time that England lose to a team.

And were you surprised to discover this ?
