Would you rather have a team that finished just above relegation, and therefore didn't have players of the calibre of Mane, Scheinderlin, Clyne, J-Rod, etc ? We are playing at the top table, and there are some bloody big, very rich, and extremely greedy clubs at our end of the league, whom we cannot compete with in the wages stakes.

Assuming you are standing still, relative to the travelator, at the moment you leave the ground you are travelling at the same speed, and in the same direction, as the travelator so when you come back down you will have travelled an equivalent distance. If, however, you were to hover above the travelator you would begin to experience resistance from the air, and would begin to lose ground relative to the point you started.

Only if you really want Cortana. I'm waiting at least 6 months before even considering this upgrade, as with all Micro$oft systems I expect it will get a hefty service pack in a couple of months. ( I get a tad annoyed at the Micro$oft TV ad implying that IT security is a thing we don't need to worry about any more because Windows 10 is the answer to all of mankind's woes ).
