  1. Living on the Flower estate and going to KES, what a way to grow up.
  2. Plenty of us about.
  3. The EU ban on seal products came in in 2009; "Grand Banks cod stocks grow 69% since 2007" http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/grand-banks-cod-stocks-grow-69-since-2007-1.942200 "Canadian cod make a comeback" http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20735-canadian-cod-make-a-comeback.html#.VVMEefBogWY
  4. I'll start with 2 -Michael Gove and Ian Duncan Smith.
  5. Why does anybody think these signs are serious ?
  6. True, but don't claim it's democracy.
  7. The result is binary; less than 25% voted Tory, over 75% didn't.
  8. Is it ironic that the Government is going to impose a requirement for Unions to need 40% of 'eligible' members to vote for a strike, when less than 25% of 'eligible' voters voted for the Government ?
  9. You can't use facts to fight Sarnie.
  10. Wonder if they'll release a soundtrack album.
  11. "He's known as Jap Si".
  12. Once the Government have implemented the boundary changes, Labour will be more in favour of PR.
  13. But you get pensioner discount.
  14. I thought it was a bargain.
  15. One system uses larger constituencies, each electing 1 or 2 'local' MPs on a transferable votes basis, and then padding out the overall voting proportions in Parliament from national party lists.
  16. Apparently some people have complained.
  17. That's the 2 combined.
  18. A lasting reminder of our colonial past, enabling us to continue to bathe in the reflected glory of a time when Britannia ruled the waves, a third of the map of the World was red, and any foreign political problem could be solved by the Royal Navy sending a gunboat.
  19. Don't the Welsh, ( and N Irish ), already have local representation ?
  20. Effing stupid thing to do though - handed the Tory media a propaganda open goal.
  21. If the Police feel the need to pry they can apply for the appropriate warrant, they should not have the right to go on fishing expeditions. This will also place a significant burden on Telcos and organisations delivering public access Internet services, as they will have to collate and store the data.
  22. We have never had a vote on PR - the Electoral Reform Society said that a change to AV based on the current constituency map would probably change nothing.
  23. People who currently either vote tactically, or feel that their vote cannot count due to their local demographics, ( a Labour voter in Whitney for instance ), would be able to vote for their party of choice. Such an election would not have produced the result we saw last week.
  24. Will everybody PLEASE acknowledge that this Government, like almost all of those that went before it, was NOT elected by a majority - of either the votes cast or the total electorate. Most voters, in fact nearly 2 thirds of them, did NOT vote Conservative. FACT.
  25. So that's what 'governing for the whole country' means.
