Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
badgerx16 replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
The key issue with Islamic terrorists, or at least the current crop of salafist inspired fanatics, is their beleif that martyrdom sends them to heaven. They welcome violent death and have no reason whatsoever to consider negotiation, moderation, or any level of compassion towards their victims. ( I don't think we would ever hear of ISIS phoning in a coded bomb warning ). Terrorists from other persuasions have demonstrable, if sometimes deluded, aims and objectives, and generally expect to live to see their ideals materialise. -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35903066 An article in the Sun that claimed nearly one in five UK Muslims had "sympathy for Jihadis" was misleading, the new press regulator has ruled. -

But when the 'tens of thousands' are Muslim, what is Sour's reaction ? It seems at face value that there are double standards in force, as it seems all Muslims are the same in his eyes. Also, are these foodstuffs 'banned' by Islam, or just by the fanatical, despotic, IS ? -

Who are "they"? If we are talking IS then they have killed tens of thousands more middle eastern Muslims than westerners. And what are these food and drink items that they ban ? Are they any different from the ones Orthodox Jews shun ? -

But is it 'whataboutery' to point out that the Old Testament also cites stoning to death for homosexual acts ? -

If this were the early 1970s, would we be discussing Irish immigration in the same way ? -

Since WW2, no UK government has been elected with a majority of the vote.

Bernie says that they need to find way to break the Mercedes dominance. Was he concerned when Red Bull were winning successive championships, or Ferrari, or even Maclaren ?

To be honest, Wes, this entire thread has started to resemble a food fight in a kindergarten.

"The Southampton supporters singing the song calling Loveren a c.nt is absouletly disgusting. This is the first match I have attended in a while and I couldn't believe a whole section of there supporters were singing such a disgusting song about a ex player. Just wondering whether this had affected Loveren and that's why Klopp made the substitution. I am just glad I hadn't taken my son to the match because I wouldn't want him to here that." If he's affected that much by some singing then he's a lot softer than he ought to be. And Klopp's decision to sub him was a major factor in our second half success.

It has the makings of a truly Golden thread.

I think part of the government bean counters' problem is that when they switched to the new assessment process, they factored in a reduction in overall claims, which automatically generated a saving on the overall budget. Unfortunately for them, the new assessment process, primarily intended to prune the claim rates, is so screwed up that 60% of appeals are successful, which means more people are receiving PIP than they intended.
