  1. "Tottenham scored a wonderful goal", "superb delivery", "superb technique by Adebayor" - Glenn Hoddle, What does he know ? Surely it was defensive blunders and a crap goalie that gifted them the equaliser ?
  2. A young, inexperienced, 3rd choice keeper, expecting his 2 far more experienced colleagues to deal with the ball. He isn't Boruc, probably never will be. I would blame Hooiveld and Fox for the goal, not the keeper.
  3. And there is always the perception many Americans seem to hold of Scotland being a district of England.
  4. Surely not this one ? ( Mind you, I don't think you could call it 'twinkly' ). [video=youtube;-77sVQ7Zgv0]
  5. Cycling should be a compulsory part of the driving test.
  6. Are the Alps a problem for France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Opening up better links between Lancashire and the dark side would help bring some light into the lives of the afflicted, ( Yorkshiremen )
  7. TV adverts promising an 'up to 100%...' improvement over the previous product version. Does this mean it could actually be 0% better ?
  8. Which team will play in the most "cup finals" this season ?
  9. Well currently they're of a standard to get out of L2, but not in the direction they anticipated.
  10. At least give the link : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25383373 " Data from Europe's Cryosat spacecraft suggests there were almost 9,000 cu km of ice at the end of this year's melt season. This is close to 50% more than in the corresponding period in 2012. It is a rare piece of good news for a region that has witnessed a rapid decline in both area cover and thickness in recent years. But scientists caution against reading too much into one year's "recovery". "Although the recovery of Arctic sea ice is certainly welcome news, it has to be considered against the backdrop of changes that have occurred over the last few decades," said Prof Andy Shepherd of University College London, UK. It's estimated that there were around 20,000 cu km of Arctic sea ice each October in the early 1980s, and so today's minimum still ranks among the lowest of the past 30 years,"
  11. "I’m sure one or two of them are pinching themselves they are playing for Portsmouth." - they're pinching themselves in the hope that it's all a bad dream and they will wake up and find they're playing in League 1 after all.
  12. The bowling is clueless and the batting lacks any backbone - it's a pathetic capitulation. The problem now is selection for the next test - do we drop some of the old stagers and risk the younger players getting mentally blown away, or tell the 'first eleven' to go out and earn a renewal of the central contracts that seem to make them think they're untouchable ?
  13. Their 5 away wins have been Sunderland, Fulham, Villa, Cardiff, and Palace. The only other 'big' team they've played away so far has been the Arse, which they lost. I think that at present the two teams are pretty much on a par and we should make home advantage count.
  14. It's not a case of 'talking him up'. He IS temporarily our first choice keeper, if this causes people to suffer fits of apoplexy then they should direct their bile at the manager who has failed to address this apparent weakness in our squad. If you are looking for a 'worse' example in the EPL then logically you need to assess each team's 3rd choice option - I'm not sure I could name any of them, let alone give an informed opinion on their playing ability.
  15. My argument is not affected by the results of those 2 games - he is NOT Wessex League standard, FACT; he is much better than that, though possibly not yet of a level that would make him a #2 in the EPL, but he's only #3 on our squad list. Why the f()ck do so called 'fans' of this club have to turn of him when the fact that he is playing, regardless of what you think of his ability, is not his fault. If it's a mistake to select him, slate the manager. And just to give you the chance - which of the goals in the 2 games you have mentioned are ENTIRELY down to Gazza, and not due to poor defending in front of him ?
  16. No he isn't, No he isn't. If either of these statements were true, how come we have only conceded 2 goals in the last 2 games, neither of which could be claimed to directly be his fault ?
  17. But apparently it's different if they are keepers.
  18. Well, he's almost certainly starting against Spuds.
  19. So why did NA buy him, and why hasn't MP got rid or bought in somebody else ?
  20. Well, 2 Premier League managers ( one an ex keeper ), decided that he should stay at Saints.
  21. As with the high take when he knew he would get clattered late in the second half - the one where the ref got floored.
  22. Any player can mis-kick - if it's a striker everybody laughs it off, if it's a young keeper they crucify him.
  23. Sensible post. ( Out of place on this Forum though )
  24. All these 'cup finals' coming one after the other, it's really putting pressure on their squad.
