  1. The promotion to the PL was a huge unexpected windfall for the Oystons; Holloway was only supposed to provide 'mid table mediocrity', but with 6 wins in their last 8 league games they pipped Swansea for the last play-off position by a point. In the close season they spent the square root of sod all, and eventually reaped the reward of the lack of investment on the final day of the 2010-11 season. As for the ground, the redevelopment officially started in June 2000 when the Kop End, ( north stand ), was demolished, the west stand was finished in 2002, and it then took 7 years to get from pulliing down the south stand to topping out it's replacement in 2010. At that rate it'll be at least 2018 before the eastern side is rebuilt.
  2. KOKO is a clueless ***t, who is only where he is as a front for his dad ( who cannot front the club himself on the grounds of being a convicted sex offender -as it clearly states on the walls of KOKO's former school ). Unfortunately for Seasiders fans, the Oyscum, ( as they are colloquially known ), could put limpets to shame with their tenacity, and similarly leeches for their ability to bleed something dry. ( Try to follow the Premier League money and parachute payments around the accounts of the web of interlocking Osyton companies: eg(1) a ( perfectly legal ) unsecured and interest free loan of £11.5 million to Segesta Limited ( BFC's holding company - which now 'owes' BFC approx £24 million ) eg(2) £11 million paid in the Premier League season to Zabaxe Limited - wholly owned by Owen Oyston and his wife - for 'consultancy' This sum far exceeds the salary total for the first team squad and manager for that season ). It is widely hoped around here that the FL will use the same balls they have used against Dave Whelan, and will find a 'proper' sanction against 'the Klown'.
  3. Nice to see RK willing to play with the formation when necessary, it seems he at least is capable of a 'plan B'.
  4. It seems to crop up every time a team loses, there is no right of expectation of a particular outcome when you buy a ticket for a sporting event.
  5. Draw, win, lose, draw.
  6. I seem to remember a couple when I was very young, ( early 60's ).
  7. As long as the power hungry sociopathic criminals who head these 'terrorist' organisations can persuade gullible fools that blowing up 'infidels' and apostates will grant them an eternal place in Paradise, this will continue.
  8. Nothing I have seen of him in a Saints shirt has altered the opinion of him that I held before we bought him - a limited player who's work rate far exceeds his technical ability. ( The sort of player who, when in the opposition team, is always likely to score against us, despite his limitations ).
  9. The way things are going, one of the proposed starting 11 will do a hamstring in the pre-match warmup.

    Mane

Get rid - he loses the ball too easily, goes to ground rather than taking on defenders, can't shoot or cross for toffee, and is a liability defending.
  11. We PAID for Long and Mane - any price was 'over'.
  12. Any chance of offloading Mane in the window ?
  13. Living in Lancashire, local radio gives you a different perspective on 'regional' football to that you might get with Solent ;-)
  14. Playing for Blackburn in 1960.
  15. This thread runs the risk of introducing a serious political debate into TMS, but I think the subject matter needs to be brought to the attention of Muppets everywhere : http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/a-long-list-of-sex-acts-just-got-banned-in-uk-porn-9897174.html http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2014/dec/12/face-sitting-protest-outside-parliament-against-new-porn-rules?CMP=fb_gu A change has been made to the law that makes it illegal to include certain acts in UK produced Internet hosted 'adult' videos, including Aggressive whipping Penetration by any object "associated with violence" Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of if consensual) Urolagnia (known as "water sports") Role-playing as non-adults Physical restraint Humiliation Female ejaculation Strangulation Facesitting Fisting Is this another example of a Nanny State ? ( Provided that Nanny isnt spanking 'baby' ! ) Or is it just the Tories reducing the chances of their private activities leaking into the public domain ?
  16. Where did you see that ? It's currently persisting down oop 'ere in Lanky, but whilst there may be some light snow in the offing for tomorrow morning, the forecast for Dingleland on Saturday is chilly ( 3 to 5 degrees ) the precipitation looks like it will be limited to showers, possibly with a little sleet.
  17. Exactly, it looked like Wanyama started tracking him and gave up, and the 'tater suggested he was actually Bertrand's target, and he'd stayed out holding a high line.
  18. Out of curiosity, why not list the team as Fraser, Nathaniel, Jose, Toby, Ryan, Victor, Steve, Morgan, Dusan, Graziano, Shane ? Why do only 2 players get first name familiarity ?
  19. Maybe, maybe not, but I don't think we're playing badly at present, we just got mugged 3 times in a week by teams with vastly superior resources and experience - if Morgan and Toby had been fit tonight I suspect we would have won.
  20. That's RK's judgement call - will Mane represent a bigger risk to Burnley's defence with his attacking, or to ours with his lack of midfield tenacity ?
  21. We are 5th, not 15th, and the difference tonight was down to RVP.
  22. Doesn't really matter, it's now a question of whether that midfield can overcome the Dingles, which surely they can ?
  23. The Dingles are really not that good, and this is a perfect opportunity to get back into our stride. 2-0 Saints, Pelle and Long.
  24. So now Ronald, it's your job to take the team to Turf Moor and prove we are better than the Dingles.
