Or introduce a separately elected devolved English assembly - exactly what the other 3 regions get.

Calling, the Dark Side is. Resist can you not !

It seems to me that the Tory plan seems to be to give us the following : Scotland, with just over 5 million population, would have a devolved Parliament PLUS representation at Westminster for 'National' issues and interests. Wales, 3 million, ditto. N Ireland, 1.8 million, ditto. England, 53 million, one group of MPs for everything, and no regional recognition - except for London. Not sure about that sort of unbalanced 'federalism'.

68 miles ( 110 Km ) today on my "Sunday Best" bike ( Van Nicholas, titanium frame ). It always amazes me that on a flat calm day you can always find a head wind cycling through Blackpool.

Return power to the true capital of our nation - Winchester.

It might depend on how effectively UKIP undermine the Tories.

Does that mean we're probably related ?

Having read through this thread I had to double check as to whether this was The Muppet Show. If the opinions presented above are truly representative of the views of the posters, I despair.

Muppet Show Independence Referendum Poll

How would an independent TMS affect Jamie's ( Batman/DellDays ) employment at his hush hush ex-serviceman's car wash just off Trafalgar Square ? -
Muppet Show Independence Referendum Poll
badgerx16 replied to Tokyo-Saint's topic in The Muppet Show
Are you really asking for independence, or a form of 'devo max' ? Are you actually in a position to arbitrarily promise the discounted membership fee in return for a YES vote, or will this in reality lead to double charging - £5 TSW pounds for the main board and £4.99 TMS pounds ( without the support of full monetary union ) for the secessionist side ? Also, what is your policy on immigration - what is your stance or allowing skates to sign up ? -
'tater on the stream said that Newcastle needed time for all their new players to get settled - If ours are still 'finding their way' surely good times are ahead. :-)

Bye bye Pardew.

The same goes for Wales and probably Northern Irelend. And what about breaking it down a little further ? - what about Wandsworth, or Henly-on-Thames, they often don't get the party they voted for. This whole exercise is is empire building by a small time opportunist who has panicked the Westminster establishment.

Seconded, also Helsinki, ( in winter ).

Why are there more 'incentives' being promised for a NO result ? The poll should be simply on the basis of the status quo - continue or bugger off. ( Or are we setting a pattern for the proposed 'in/out' European referendum, "Here we are rabble, a bag of sweeties and some magic beans if you give us the result we want" ). Also, in the event of a YES vote, rUK should get it's own poll on whether WE want any form of monetary union. If they want independence then they are independent, all ties are cut. ( Then we'll see how long it takes for Salmond's fairy story to unravel ).

Currently 3rd overall, 3 seconds behind Valverde, having finished 2nd today. Contador should win.

No. Just watched the Vuelta a Espana and now watching the Tour of Britain.

I get this in my current location but find that I don't have to actually log in, just click on 'forum' at the left hand side of the banner and the system then 'remembers' me.

Let's hope that's as much b0ll0x as many other incoming links this summer.

The interesting thing, for me, about the whole process is that with all 3 Westminster parties in the NO camp, what happens in the first Scottish General Election should the referendum produce a YES vote ? How do Scottish Labour, for example, as the probable leading political party, reconcile themselves to a legislature they didn't want ?
