  1. So, like me, you're married to a lazy arrogant, patronising Trotskyite !
  2. Your 'small sample group' is perfectly reflective of the consensus view.
  3. Referring to the educational establishment as 'the Blob' didn't endear him to teaching staff across the entire scope of the profession. The issue with reform in education is that every year brings something new, and quite often a complete change of direction at a whim, or based on the latest Ivory Tower generated theory. Neither of the major parties has had the balls / gumption to actually leave well alone for a couple of years to allow time for a change to fully percolate and take effect. Education is such a high profile portfolio that they have to be seen to be doing something. Michael Gove's greatest achievement was to manage to unite all teaching and FE/HE unions in their attitude toward central Government.
  4. Michael Gove on his first day as Chief Whip got stuck in a toilet. Shame they got him out, he'd finally found his spiritual home.
  5. And you sir are a kingsize tw @t.
  6. Link ? Source ? Complete fabrication ?
  7. If you add Gaston, Morgan, and Graziano to our squad list, does it look better ?
  8. For the "effect of ownership" on a football club, take a look at Blackpool. In their Premier League season the club paid £11million pounds to Owen Oyston, the father of their chairman. Now, having avoided relegation last season, they currently have only 8 registered players, with no goalkeeper - 27 players left in the close season. They have cancelled their pre season tour because they cannot put out a team, ( they are suggesting that they might compensate fans who had booked travel to watch them ), and if they do manage to recruit enough to put 11 on the pitch, it is likely that they will have just 1 'friendly', ( in quotes as it's against Burnley ), before they kick off the new season away to Notts Forest.
  9. Are you sure that you really are the Bear ? No 'bro', no 'lolz', just a simple, intelligent, put down.
  10. Gove has been moved on in the reshuffle WOOT !!!
  11. And Spuds don't seem to be able to ship out the two they need to offload to make space in their squad, according to The Mirror : http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-turmoil-spurs-boss-mauricio-3851088
  12. We've replaced a manager who has won bugger all with a manager who has actually won things as a player and a manager, we've replaced somebody we signed as a League 1 'journeyman' with a striker our new manager knows and trusts, we've ripped off Man Utd with the fee for a teenager with 1 full season behind him, we've overcharged Liverpool for Lallana the Strop and replaced him with Tadic, and now we've put the shutters down on further player exits as the preseason starts, whilst hopefully looking to cash in on our transfer bounty and strengthen the squad. Yep, looks like the 'Sports writer of the year' has clearly got his finger right on the pulse there, LOL.
  13. Makes up for his near miss in last year's Vuelta - 4 pedal strokes from the finish when he got caught.
  14. Surely this is more accurate ?
  15. As Max Boyce says - "I was there". One advantage of those dark and dismal years was the opportunity to get a few more 'home' games at Preston and Blackpool, and visiting some new grounds around Lancashire & Yorkshire.
  16. Good result for Nibali.
  17. Excellent post.
  18. Also, remember it wasn't just the Yorkies - all of us 'Northern Monkeys' were swarming over t'hills; Lancastrians ( and Mancs are included in that ) and the good folk of Derbyshire were out in vast numbers. There were also people from the Potteries, Cheshire, Cumbria, and Wales, ( and it appears a fair few from south of Watford Gap ).
  19. I think a lot more people turned out than the organisers had planned for. People have seen the Alpine and Pyrenean stages on the TV and see how the roads get congested near the tops of the climbs - with this probably being their only chance in their lifetime to see the spectacle they wanted to emulate these scenes. Add to this a lack of true understanding of how the race functions - the worst aspect where we were was that after the peloton had passed many in the crowd assumed the race had gone and started spilling out onto the road, not realising there were still a couple of Lampre riders straggling along a few minutes back with the Broom Wagon, etc, behind them.
  20. I am Spartacus !
  21. Spent a good day at the hairpin at the bottom of the descent from Holme Moss, the turn onto Woodhead Pass - on the phone to the Mrs as the race went past only to be told that ITV had gone to an advert break.
  22. No, because that particular punishment has been abolished, The historical aspect in these cases is the guideline on length of punihment, not the type of punishment.
  23. ( No point in copying the full text block ) There is a lot of conjecture, supposition, and guesswork mixed up in there. Very few people know the truth about what is going on, especially in terms of the Board's motives and intentions.
  24. Didn't realise you were being positive !
