He's not a particularly inspiring choice as a manager, especially when looking at his statistical record. I can think of 4 other realistic options I would have picked over him. He also clearly wasn't our first choice which doesn't bode too well... However, given our recent track record with new managers I'll certainly give him the benefit of the doubt and trust the decision to appoint him! Hopefully he'll do well and won't take us backwards.

That was absolutely appalling. Every single player, with the possible exception of Vardy who at least offered something, was bettered by a 5min cameo from an 18 year old. We're 2-1 down to Iceland with 15min to go and we're playing like we're 1-0 up. The game plan didn't change at all. I'm exceptionally glad Roy's gone. If he's replaced with some inexperienced candidate purely because he's English and wore the shirt a few times (I'm looking at you Neville and Southgate) then we'll just have to spend another 4 years watching **** football with egos like Sturridge and Alli waltzing around the pitch. Long shot but I think Pellegrini could do a brilliant job. Knows the players, wants to stay in the country, and has actually achieved something in his career.

Decent price if true and very much an expected transfer. He'll be a real loss to us and we'll need a quality replacement once the new manager comes in. Although I'm happy with Redmond joining us, I think he has a different skill set and am not sure he's the man for the job. With Wanyama and Mane gone I don't think we can afford to loose anyone else (although I wouldn't be too heart broken if Koeman came in for Clasie). We are now 35mil in the green this transfer window and along we the TV money and previous seasons not spending big, I'd be hugely disappointed if we didn't spend at least 45mil on 3 or 4 additions to give us a decent shot at the Europa League.

Although I'd like the believe him there really isn't anything he's said so far that qualifies him as an ITK. It's guess work and a keen eye for the foreign press. Now if he came out and said a specific player will sign a new contract on an exact day, then he gets the thumbs up from me!

I think refusing to play, even if it's just on one occasion, tells people all you need to know about a player really.

Spoke to a Spurs supporting mate this morning. Although he agrees that it's a great deal, he's not at all happy he's joining them. His words were 'I don't want a player with that type of attitude at my club.' The point was also made that he wouldn't make the starting 11 bar injuries. We all knew Vic was a mercenary and he's been great for us, but that's one less disruptive child throwing his toys around in the changing room.

Apologies, I hadn't read anything about the Russian arrests. I honestly think that anyone identified via videos/photos should be banned from attending sporting events for the next 5 years and in the more serious cases have their passport revoked. When travelling abroad you are representing your country and I for one don't want to be associated with this lot.
