AFC Wimbledon (local club for the last 4 years) and Yeovil town purely because I lived with a massive glovers fan for a few years.

Totally agree with Van dijk being our best player. He was calm, efficient and accurate. Looks to be a fantastic signing. Thought Bertrand was a bit rusty and a lot of the squad, especially Fonte, we're clearly frustrated with him and let him know about it. Better than Targett regardless. Cedric had four or five **** ups today, but his offensive play makes up for it and I'd start him every game going forwards. Pelle and Davis also had great games today. Worked hard and did their jobs well. Also thought JWP although quiet at times played well. Still not convinced he's good enough to be starting for us though.

I think it's safe to assume all those not involved last night will start (although I'd prefer is Soares did regardless) so I'm going for a line up of... Stekelenburg Yoshida Fonte VvD Targett Wanyama Romeu JWP Mane Pelle Tadic

A few colleagues were up at Melwood doing some filming 2 weeks ago and he was one of the players selected to read out a few lines. Apparently he was the most miserable git imaginable and didn't seem happy at all. This was almost certainly due to having to do the filming but I like to think it's because he's realised the mistake he's made and will soon be phased out of the team Is he a good player? Yes. Would I welcome him back? Absolutely not. Other information on involved LFC players are that Ibe has an IQ of 30, Robbie Fowler appears to be 'partying' quite hard these days, Brendan Rogers is terrifying, and Kolo Toure is an absolute legend and spent a large amount of the day singing and dancing to his own song (I've seen this first hand and it's absolutely brilliant).

Get Targett off the pitch NOW. His final ball is appalling.

Targett is a complete f*****g passenger. Utterly useless and totally out of his depth. Spend 5min watching him on and off the ball and he's as gormless on a pitch as he looks off it. Our formation dictates that our fullbacks need to be pressing forward and capable of making tricky runs with the ability to deliver an accurate and useful ball. Bertrand can't come back soon enough...

From what I've seen so far he looks like a steal at 5mil. There are times when he looks a little rusty but that'll soon change if he keeps getting 90mins a week.

Kensuke Honda. He's exactly the type of player we are missing and would inject some much needed creativity into our attack. Any change left from that would go on Michael Bradley.

Unfortunately the first half has taught me one thing. Matt Targett is currently no where near the required level to be a premiership player. Looks clueless at times and his offensive capabilities are woeful. If we concede today it'll be down to either him or Caulker f*****g up. On the other hand, Romeu has looked pretty good.

There's no way he'd go for 15m. Assuming Red Bull Salzburg will have been smart enough to include a percentage of his next sale then we'd be looking at making the square root of f**k all.

Considering the amount we bought him for, his age, the fact that he's got just under 3 years left on his contract and that he scored the fastest premier league hat trick in history... They would have to pay a seriously mental amount of money for him. Can't see it happening personally. I'd imagine that all the Man U fans would also be pretty underwhelmed considering the other names they've been linked with this transfer window.

That would an unreal signing, quality player. I'd imagine his wages would be pretty hefty even if we didn't pay the whole lot for the loan though.

Couldn't agree more. An unbelievable moment for the club and a perfect result despite a slightly dodgy second half.

Agreed. It seems like he's really got something to prove so hopefully his time with us will be a success!

Yup. I'd hope he'd be cover for Gardos and we look to bring in someone else to match Toby's quality. Personally I'd say that Yoshida should get the nod ahead of Caulker if he does sign.

Maya's English is pretty impressive! We certainly need to get another CB in but I'd be comfortable with him and Fonte as our starting back pair this season.

Exactly. McQueen has been pretty good preseason and looks more physically prepared than some of the other youngsters. No need to throw money at a player like Djuricic.

161. The 2007/2008 team completely threw me. Some great forgotten names in the other seasons though! After filling in the recent years the first names after that came to mind were Chris Marsden and Fabrice Fernandes. Saints legends...
