Wow... That is actually hilarious. It sounds like it's been written by some half cut fan doing a journalism A level. I had absolutely no idea Everton felt this way about their status and get so hostile when it comes to their image and how others see them. As others have said above, football changes and so does the club hierarchy. That's the beauty of it surely? There are plenty of other teams with a 'history' like Everton but the bottom line is it really does mean f**k all today. Players aren't going to sign for Nottingham Forest because they won the Champions League 30 years ago and Everton aren't going to attract world class players because they won the old first division 30 years ago. It certainly doesn't give them the right to declare that they are a better team than others, especially when it's orated by fans and crap journalists who weren't even alive the last time their club had real success. Everton seem to think that because they have a new wealthy owner it suddenly means they'll be challenging for a top 4 spot. As convinced as they are that this will happen, I'm equally assured that this time next year they will have accomplished absolutely f all and I'd be surprised if Koeman is still in charge. Going forward, my lasting opinion of Everton is one of a self entitled little rich kid thinking the world owes them success and I will be genuinely pleased to see them fall short next season.

Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
Jai27 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It really is great news. They are the best sponsor we've ever had, simple as that! Plus we managed to avoid any 'Wongas' or 'Jobsite' rubbish. -
I think Cedric has shown flashes of real quality but it's clear Koeman didn't favor him. I'm hopeful that a new manager can give him some confidence and a run of games to prove he's PL material. I know everyone seems to like Martina but he really isn't good enough to be starting for us. He's fine as backup, but that's it.

Requested odds for Vitor Pereira via several sites and only Betvictor agreed to give it a go. 12/1! Thought you'd get better odds than that...
-
My thoughts also. Not a clue who it could be though...
-
Great news about Moyes! Interesting that FDB and AVB aren't up there. Wonder who the other mystery candidate is...
-
Please no. That would be the most disappointing managerial appointment since Paul Sturrock.
-
Thanks for the update K Billy! How about Vitor Pereira?
-
-
Well, he sounds like a nice chap...
-
Are you really still here?
-
Has to be Juanmi really. Never really got going for him since he joined.
-
Very odd. That alone is worth a fiver surely if he was on the list!
-
Apparently he was interviewed for the Everton job before Martinez got it. Imagine if we got Pereira in as manager and finished above Koeman...
-
Certainly ticks all the boxes. The teams he's managed in the past though have all been top dog or there about in their respective leagues...
-
Yup. He will have to carefully craft his first response upon signing for Everton and I'm sure it'll revolve around 'ambition', but there's no getting away from the fact that he made that comment very recently and it makes him look like an absolute moron.
-
Well, that's one down!
-
We bring in AVB, Wanyama leaves and is replaced with Axel Witsel, Cedric turns into the player he's supposed to be due to new confidence from manager, we sign a new central attacking midfielder capable of that killer pass, JayRod and Austin stay fit and find form, we finish in 6th again above Everton and Ron is sacked. Hows that for a slice of fried gold?
-
This is true, but why take the risk? His track record of jumping the gun via YouTube videos is abysmal. I enjoy hearing about the club structure etc but I can do without if it means the club saves a bit of face...
-
Just as credible though...

This in red and white with black or gold trim would be brilliant.

That's a lovely thought isn't it? -
Hello. Judging by the above you are either 12 or 80 so I'll be kind either way, but please go away now.
-
Just had a quick read through his history. He's actually got a phenomenal record with the only real negative being his time at Chelsea. I'd be very excited if he turns out to be our next manager.
-
That's the one. Not exactly concrete evidence but perhaps enough to suggest he's our man!
