    Players Songs

The song for Gabbiadini thread got me thinking, so many of our players are without songs and as much as I like VVD it gets pretty dull singing that 20 times a game. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of the below... Forster - 'England's number 1'... Really? Cedric - ? Yoshida - ? VVD - 'We've got Van...' Bertrand - ? McQueen - 'He's one of our own...' Romeu - 'Ori, Oriol, Ori...' JWP - ? Davis - I've heard 'You are my sunshine' a few times. Surely this should be a bit more popular? Hojbjerg - ? Clasie - ? Boufal - ? (surely he's perfect for the old Pahars song) Tadic - 'Dusan Tadic, woah oh...' Possibly the dullest song in football. Redmond - ? Sims - 'He's one of our own...' Long - 'Hey Jude' JayRod - ? Gabbiadini - ? Austin - 'Charlie Austin's Red and white...', but I heard a load of guys at the Palace away game singing a song to 'Glad all over' which was much better. There have been some brilliant songs in the past (personal favourites would be Rickie's and Claus Lundekvam's. Also loved Wanyama's but wasn't really ours to start with) so surely we can come up with something new and unique ˈa la Wigan with Will Grigg? Any suggestions?
  4. Can't agree with Caceres as we've never even seen him play for us (plus he hasn't actually signed yet). Based on current form I'd also drop Forster. McCarthy Soares--Yoshida-VvD--Bertrand Romeu--Hojbjerg Boufal Redmond--Gabbiadini---Tadic
  5. Boufal is very exciting to watch from what I've seen so far and could quickly turn into a fan favourite with a run of games, but personally my current pick would have to be Romeu. He's talented, works incredibly hard, and doesn't have a hint of arrogance about him.
  6. Likewise. His movement was brilliant and for a guy playing his first ever match in the PL he looked composed and confident. He may not be as fast as Long but first impressions are that he has more skill on the ball. Only downside was his frequent over dramatic fouls. He deserved a free kick from all of them but needs to tone that down.
  7. I'll pass on the foam finger and acting like a... 'din'? But I enjoy being around other Saints fans before a game and singing **** songs. I'll be having a quiet beer with a few mates in my local before heading up to Wembley on the tube. Always keen to avoid anywhere central as I'm not a fan of the 'tourists, foreign language school groups and people clutching 16 Primark bags' atmosphere
  8. Won't be much of an atmosphere if you head somewhere central though.
  9. Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. Will probably give the Liquor Station a go to start with and then follow the crowds.
  10. What's the deal with pubs near the ground? Can anyone recommend somewhere that'll have a good atmosphere with plenty of Saints fans in?
  11. I was suggesting that we need to approach it in an aggressive manner and play to win, not set up to defend with the usual away game mentality. Although he won't get sacked before the cup final, I think it's safe to say that a loss against the worst team in the PL will be factored into his job security come summer.
  12. Puel has to see this as a must win game. Sunderland are awful regardless of it being home or away.
  13. Long may it stay that way until it gets to members with less than 5 games
  14. Please be De Gea...
  15. Well, Oscar went about as far away as you can get!
  16. I said before, he's a trouble maker and I'm glad he's nothing to do with us.
  17. If Romeu gets injured I'd say there's a good chance we'll be in a relegation scrap by March.
  18. Just so I'm clear... Your saying that there are no decent CBs available, at all, anywhere, who would want to come and play for Saints?
  19. The return of Neal Trotman...
  20. I'm not sure why people are suggesting Bertrand starts playing as a CB. He's only done this on a couple of occasions and that was with a back 5 and VVD next to him. I just can't see it working with a standard back 4.
  21. If it was up to me, heads would roll for this transfer window.
  22. So it's possible we'll be spending the rest of the season with Yoshida, Stephens, and Gardos as our centre backs. It was only a few weeks back that we were all saying god help us if VVD gets injured and we don't replace Fonte. Well, here we are Transfer wise this window has been the biggest balls up we've made since Osvaldo and Delgado before him.
