that is not the point I am making just saying it is a new age when giving players who have signed in the last 12 months new deals is seen as 'ambition' neither of them are within the last year of their current deals like those you mention....any of them would be sold if we got a mane type of offer. good news, yes. cedric signed 12 months ago and fonte signed a new deal 9 months ago hardly ambition keeping them both is it. Good news that we are seemingly not going to sell them, granted

I think we are going to regress a fair bit on the defensive record that has been our bedrock in the last few years. if we don't get a quality replacement for Mane, just cannot see us being as good going forward. we'll do alright I guess

not about this game. it seems we will put so much into the full backs to create chances and give us width we will get caught out. the midfield has little pace in it to get across the pitch. we still clearly need a top replacement for mane.

Saints are giving millions of £££ to the lower leagues. We pay for a bit of that with the ridiculous ticket prices. and you want to give more? the point is, Premier league is probably the most 'fair' league out of the top divisions. I wonder if in spain or Italy, they give 20% or so to their lower league buddies? very much doubt it
