  1. http://www.feyenoordpings.nl/nieuws/12978/-ac-milan-wil-koeman-te-slim-af-zijn-en-gaat-voor-pell-.html The transition from Graziano Pelle to Southampton is still uncertain. The clubs seemed to be heading off on an agreement, but according to British media Feyenoord and The Saints but disagree on the amount of the transfer fee. AC Milan seems to want to take advantage of this and see in the Feyenoord striker Mario Balotelli for a desired successor. Knows Il Sussidiario to report Thursday. It seems almost certain that Balotelli this summer leaves the Milanese club. Earlier, Berlusconi had also been negative on the striker, who in recent weeks significantly associated with Arsenal. Related When he actually went to Milan, the club would like to strengthen the Italian. According to the aforementioned newspaper Feyenoord and Southampton have been some time in negotiating Pellè but not yet come out. Feyenoord would be between ten and twelve million longing for its top scorer, while the new club Koeman does not seem to want to go over eight million further. Pellè has a commitment to mid-2017 in the Kuip, but starting this summer seems to it to be eligible for the attacker who is 29 years next week.
  2. Talks between #Feyenoord & #Southampton for Graziano Pelle are at a dead end - FEY wants €12m #SaintsFC offers max €8m via @MartijnHilhors
  3. Or a bit of both. He dressed his kids in Espanyol pyjamas after all.
  4. Ooh, subversive. I like it. That will teach him!
  5. Because he has no emotional connection to the club and never has done.
  6. Only a little disagreement over who wets the bed. It's just Saintsweb panto!
  7. Ha. Sorry to disappoint you Jeffrey but I'm not the man you think I am.
  8. Received the SG5 earlier today. Appears to take some great photos in daylight, the auto focus is excellent and almost instantaneous. Just working my way around the other features. Impressed so far...
  9. Think we might be seeing the dinked left-footed cross and the bullet header a lot next season.
  10. Lovely stuff. Very excited to watch him in a Saints shirt.
  11. Still haggling over the fee I am guessing. I think with Pelle it is a question of when not if. Makes sense to get the Tadic deal completed first as there is greater competition for his signature (as Everton's last-minute interest has shown,) and then hopefully sort out Pelle in next couple of days. The fact that he is still in training with Feyenoord does indicate that the transfer is not as far down the line as many in the media have stated though.
  12. Pelle was in training with Feyenoord today.
  13. When is this medical then? Calling Ulrich van Gobbel to the main board with plane times.
  14. Cheers for the replies boyz. I plumped for the Samsung Galaxy S5 in the end, I shall report back with my findings.
  15. You've changed since you were diagnosed with terminal cancer. You never used to be like this.
  16. Ne me quitte pas
  17. Ah, the guy who moaned about the 'summer of inactivity' AFTER signing Wanyama and Lovren last year. This summer, after losing our manager and three of our best players, with at least two more likely to follow, no transfers in and no senior players secured on contracts, everything is apparently dandy and those that dare to criticise the new board are bedwetters. That really is unbelievable, Jeff.
  18. I thought Tadic would fill the creative void for us post-Lallana. He looked like being a fantastic buy. Bit of a crapper if he is off to Everton. I'd love to share your optimism Guan but the board and management team have a ridiculous amount of work to do to get the squad competitive before the start of the season. J-Rod most likely won't be back before November, and the only areas in the squad we have any depth in is centre-mid and at right-back. We can't play a team of those. Yes it is early days, but Pelle was an inevitable signing given he is a former player under Koeman. Shame that our new manager's profile couldn't get the Tadic deal over the line as it would have given everyone a massive boost, not to mention secured replacements for two very important positions. Recruiting a creative midfielder with the level of influence of Lallana won't come cheap, and likely to cost more than the £8.7m we had allocated for Tadic.
  19. Lack of public leadership between January and May has cost us dear. Things have improved with Reed taking a more prominent role, but the decision to hire Ralph was an absolute farce. I feel harsh saying that as in some respects he is a really nice bloke with far more humanity than the previous incumbent, and he might one day make a decent Chairman, but talk about throwing him in the deep end! Why oh why was Williams not appointed as Chief Exec, and why couldn't Krueger have been placed in a role with less responsibility - like the advisory position we were initially duped into thinking he was going to be performing - and learnt a bit more about the trade while working under Williams, before perhaps being promoted at a later date? Does anyone seriously think that the players were impressed by Krueger when he was announced as Chairman? I remember Rickie saying Krueger was 'dead enthusiastic' but you got the sense that he must have been perceived as a bit of an alien or a joke figure among the players. Who is this man, and why is he now running things (or not) at this football club? Williams, on the other hand, would have commanded a lot more respect. It is very hard for us fans to know whether players like Lovren are dressing their cold ambition up with excuses about being neglected by the board, and we might doubt the veracity of such claims or whether it is really influencing their decision-making, but the manner in which the club drifted through January to March with little in the way of any public declarations about the direction of the club has just given them a convenient get-out clause.
  20. Ah, there's that stalking horse.
  21. Spot on. Still holding out hope that the new board will learn from their mistakes and restore some confidence, but in terms of Cortese's contribution to the 'perception' of the club then you've nailed it. Easy to deride ambitions of European football as the folly of a power-mad despot, but the players bought into it, many fans bought into it, and the football media were just beginning to. While this might not be deemed 'realistic' by some or even a large part of the reason that so many players are now jumping ship, the reality was that we had some very good players at the club believing that they could achieve such things with Southampton. Maybe we would never have quite had the financial clout to get there and maybe KL would never have backed us - I'm of the view that we were only 3-4 quality players away - but to dismiss Cortese as a deluded fantasist duping players into signing for us and constantly spouting hot air, does massively underplay his contribution to the perception of the club and the material benefits that that brought us.
  22. Speaks of how bad this summer has been so far that Morgan stating he has spoken to the new boss (after Koemam called), and that he might stay if the board spend the money wisely, is now taken as a proof of class.
  23. A £10m profit after one year is good business, but can't help but think we could drive up price somewhere between £20m and £25m. Dives into tackles when not always necessary, but you are right, he is our best centre back for many a year and would be a massive loss.
