He said it wasn't 'necessarily' Robertson, which I took to mean that he has been informed that we are in for a Scottish LB but hasn't been told the name.
-
Robertson looks absolute quality from what I have seen of him. It would be great to have two promising youngsters slugging it out for a starting berth at LB, much like we do at RB. £2-3m is a steal, get it done Les!

Is this a little dig at Pochetino from Cork?
Toon Saint replied to Johnny Bognor's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't call this so much as a dig, but a withering character assassination both ruthless and fearless in its exactitude; a devastating put-down that cut to the quick of Pochettino's most deeply suppressed anxieties and fears. Go Jack! -
Cheers! Can I ask what the camera features are like? From the reviews I have seen it looks like you can tinker with the photos quite a bit - something that seems to be pretty limited on the iPhone's.
-
Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 are both water resistant, so might be helpful for any other bog related accidents.

Slightly bored of my iPhone 4s 16gb and it is time to upgrade. Anyone with any recommendations? I've been quoted the same price from Vodafone for the Samsung Galaxy S5/HTC One M8/Sony Xperia Z2/iPhone 5S 16gb - no charge for handset, unlimited calls & texts, 3gb of data, and free Spotify/Sky Sports mobile for 6 months, all for £34 p/m. I like the idea of the noise cancelling technology on the Xperia, but would also like to be able to do more with my camera and notice that the Samsung and HTC both have some decent features where you can play with the aperture and depth perception. Still open to staying with the iPhone but not sure I actually like the design too much of the new one - a little angular for my liking. I'm otherwise clueless, so any personal insights would be much appreciated.

Dusan Tadic - DONE DEAL, official and everything

And so he doesn't get a battering in his first press conference next Friday. Would be nice if the discussion was focused on new signings and not just those leaving. -
Will be waiting a while as vultures tend to inhabit desert plains, mountains, forests, marshland, or savannahs.
-
The new board haven't signed a single player yet or managed to tie a senior player down to a new contract, so only natural that some are getting a bit twitchy. Confident there will be some movement next week though - I can't see Koeman being put in front of the media on Friday without at least 2 new players in place.

Appalling show of commitment from our players

An enabler? **** me Jeffrey, but that is a little hysterical. I'm not apathetic about it. I dislike the imbalance of power that now exists between players and clubs, and the narcissism of certain players who think they can hold the very people paying their wages to ransom by going on 'strike', while conveniently ignoring all that that said club has provided for them. However, footballers don't care what I think, or you for that matter. Most seem to live in a hyperreality where agents take care of their every need, fuel ego and ambition, and negotiate their next move often without the player ever needing to explain his reasons for wanting out. Some remain grounded, but as Lallana's 14 word farewell letter demonstrates, there is a certain detachment from the fan-base that chant their names at every match and that is probably only going to get worse. How do we change the attitudes of players? By making angry threads on a forum? I doubt it. We need structural changes in the game that limit the power of agents (especially for those under 21), enforces wage caps to ensure a more competitive and financially prudent league, and maybe stronger measures to prohibit players from threatening 'strike' action in the first place. Is that likely to happen while the big clubs continue to benefit, the Premier League suck up even more money from television rights, and the status-quo remains unchallenged? Again, massively doubt it. For now, there is a certain pragmatism in accepting that if a player wants to leave our club then he will most probably do so. And if he is to leave then lets get the best deal we possibly can for the club and move on. While it might frustrate you, to single out certain people as 'enabling' the behaviour of players is a bit strange. We all support the laissez-faire hyper-capitalism of the Premier League by attending matches, paying for Sky, buying merchandise, etc., and it is the money on offer (and especially the concentration of it among the higher clubs) that is changing the way players behave - not the posts of a few people on a web forum. In that sense, we could all be viewed as 'enablers'. But just maybe you are the man for revolution, Jeff... -
I thought the delays with Osvaldo was more his reluctance to come to us though? Roma directors were convincing him to accept the offer for ages before he relented.
-
Ha, I would hope not. Genuinely hope we work out a deal that is fair for both sides and he leaves with little acrimony. It looks like a bit of formality given Koeman's and Pelle's tight relationship, so happy to wait on this one. It is the Tadic deal that I am more concerned about getting wrapped up quickly. Got a feeling someone like Spurs are going to play the stalking horse and jump in once a fee has been agreed. I do wonder whether Poch has disclosed to Spurs who our targets were, as Les Reed stated that they had agreed plans together on recruitment over the summer. Probably just paranoia on my part, but given their pretty appalling record in the transfer window last time around and our relative success, you'd think they'd be eager to find out who we are interested in.

Yes, no doubt our want-away players behaviour is being influenced by those that aren't arsed about it, on this very forum! Lovren is only going on strike because he saw Saint Charlie saying he expects him to leave. -
The delays are not due to personal terms but haggling over the transfer fee. Pelle missed Feyenoord's annual gala last night, which has been seen by their fans as an attempt to hasten the move. I think it is Pelle's competitive nature that has landed him in trouble rather than the arrogant streak displayed by Osvaldo.

A cult classic in the making. Will be cool in 20 years, just not now.

A microcosm of the transfer window so far: ****ing hideous.

So how is going to get the hallowed Number 7 Shirt?

Is that our new South Korean signing? -

Toon Saint replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Just wishful thinking on my part. I think Crooky has said there will be one end of this week or early next. Exact date may well be dependent on how quickly we get the signings done as I'm sure the club would like to present Koeman to the media with Pelle and Tadic in situ. Speaking of.... -
Dusan Tadic - DONE DEAL, official and everything
Toon Saint replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
As I understand it, we are the only club to have a bid accepted so there is not much for him to decide between at the moment. Hoping this is just agent talk while negotiating personal terms - Guan did talk of a discrepancy between what is put out in public and what is being done in private. Hopefully we see some movement today. Both Tadic and Pelle to be unveiled at Koeman's press conference on Friday please!
