Hope that trip included a visit to the Cluny or Cumberland Arms.

So Krueger is the snake-oil salesman many of us thought him to be. -

Amazing that we are dedicating resources overseas to sell players, but haven't managed to bring in a player that wasn't personally recommended by Koeman yet. If Spurs want a player let them come to us. Where are the priorities? -

When the clubs met? Wonder whether Krueger has been 'handling' things in Canada? Bit embarrassing if we are sending staff all the way around the world just to sell Spurs players. -

I'm actually lost for words. No idea what KL's motivations are but rank incompetency, pathetic public leadership, and communication blackout seem to be the methods. Hey ho, we got our stripes back and we've been promised some smiles. My £700 well invested. -
Where did you hear that Art? Mental if true.
-
He signed his 4 year contract before he had even played a PL game. Would be mental and extremely arrogant on his behalf if he was requesting release clauses in it before he signed his first professional contract with us. Don't think it is likely.
-
Don't want Jenkinson, but Gnabry would be sensible if just to provide short-term cover for J-Rod. The lad is highly rated so would be nice to actually get something back from Arsenal for once.
-
One of the strongest points Les Reed made in the two interviews he conducted before the transfer window opened was that we make players for Southampton Football Club, no one else. He has completely undermined his credibility with the sale of Chambers, and our clubs supposed 'philosophy' has been simply tossed to the wind. Pathetic.

Pompey got more for Glen Johnson. Completely agree.

Koeman follows Gerard Pique on twitter. Does that mean a deal is imminent?
-
Saw similar on twitter from a fella saying he had spoken to Erwin Koeman at grand de vere bar last night. 2 in this week but no names given. Hope that isn't including any loan deal we might strike with Arsenal.

The revisionism begins. Slightly better than average?!

Yep got mine on the 19th.

Quite right Duncan, really poor deal for us and even more baffling given how much we've already recouped. Can't see the motivation for selling him whatsoever, unless Wenger sweet-talked Les about their shared footballing philosophies over a sherry or two. It's the one deal I just can't get my head around. The whole second choice RB argument makes no sense as 1) Chambers, at 19, has already established himself as a serious contender for the first team 2) He will get less opportunities at Arsenal in the short - term given they've signed a French international RB in his position 3) He is versatile and could have helped provide cover for CB, CM or even RM, an asset that doesn't seem lost on Wenger. 4) Since when did it become too much of a luxury for us to have two players fighting for the same position? I just hope Jason Mccarthy is as ready to step up as Calum was last year.
-
The sale of Chambers I will never be able to fathom. The lad has barely played 20 games for us, he has no right to be unhappy or agitating for a move. We've already raked in £70m+ in transfer fees and we let him go for what seems to have been the very first bid. A massive prospect just let go with barely a whimper. Don't know how any statement can justify that.
-
Selling the club would suggest a plan and a thought process. I don't believe this board has one.

Kings of the b1tchy farewell statement. Pity we don't demonstrate any fight to keep our players when it actually matters. All a bit passive-aggressive.
-
Doesn't seem like anything is imminent judging by press reports, apart from a second bid for Forster. We will be a bit like Sunderland last year in cobbling together a largely new first XI then taking some time to make those players gel. At least Sunderland got their business done early though.
-
Ha. As a player who seems to genuinely care about the club he's probably just as worried as the majority of the fans. Bit of a travesty that the board don't even seem bothered about communicating properly to players like him, as he could prove an important ally in attempting to re-build squad morale.

Looks like a paint edit in my eyes. Not sure why it is listed under 'Josh Relishing Villarreal match-up' or 'mexico' isn't capitalised. Someone with too much time on their hands.

Still in shock we are only getting £11m for him up-front. Makes absolutely no sense given how much money we are likely to have in the bank from sales already.
