He's scored 6 from open play in 1793 minutes. That's a goal every 298 minutes, or 3.33 games. Jay Rod has 4 from open play in 725 minutes, one every 181 minutes, or every 2 games. Come on guys, if you're going to come out with statements like this make sure you have the stats to back them up.

Why does everyone seem to want Defoe? Take out the penalties and he's scored the same amount as Llorente, whilst playing 500 minutes more...

Shame, but if he wants the money then fair play to him. He's on the decline and we could do with someone to take his place. Still think Yoshida has been decent enough this season, although would obviously like to see a new player signed (probably Semedo). If he has handed in a request then there are teams ready to match the wages and signing on fee he wants (to negate the loss of loyalty payments), it's just whether those sides will happily eat the amount we want for him. Been a great servant for the club, but is quite obviously motivated by money - but we knew this - he dropped down a division to join Saints and get a payrise.

Half of those appearances from the subs bench. 3 goals in 672 minutes, so a goal every 2.5 games. Not THAT bad when you consider half the appearances are from the bench.

Not sure that's realistic, we'll potentially end up for VVD, Fonte and Bertrand leaving, and keeping Puel and Black. Can't see the rest of the team and the fans putting up with that.
