Exactly this, as long as the person is shapely and doesn't make the person wearing them look like a lycra sack of potatoes, I'm all for them, men and women*. * I am an equal opportunities employer.** ** I realise that makes me sound bi. I'm not bi. -
Even though it is a loan, I would like to know if therebis another type of loan that takes this repayment schedule? To me because of the repayment schedule and the fact that there is no obligation to pay it back (as long as you don't earn more than £21k PAYE) it is surely more comparable to a tax. The best thing about it in my opinion is it sorts the wheat from the chaff, and will hopefully rid the country of D students taking Surf Studies at the taxpayers expense.

Trust me when I say I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. Seriously. ****ing hard work, and two very different ways of learning and presenting information.

My mate sent me a photo of it earlier (Waterlove). Here's the responses. Me: I wish they'd spend more time concentrating on trains running on time. Friend: Or running them at all - if my train hadn't been cancelled I'd have missed that gem, so every cloud...

However, many courses are actually too short. I had 12 hours a week and at one point was doing Advanced Microeconomics, Advanced Macroeconomics and Criminal Law in just 6 of those hours. It just wasn't enough.

True dat.

People can change their opinion based on experience though, surely? I think it's going to be 15 years until we can judge the policy, at the least. However, it does at least seem to have not made a difference to applications.

People like to complain, innit.
-
Most I spoke to on the protests didn't understand what they were protesting about. Was utterly laughable show of aggression for most on that protest.
-
Just out of interest, did you know how it would be paid back prior to going to uni?
-
But is taken at a lower amount than previously, so they're actually better off from a month to month perspective, if not long term.
-
Which is the point of the original article that a number of people are refuting.
-
Just out of interest, how does increasing tuition fees accomplish what they want then? As has been said a number of times on this thread, this apparently discourages applicants for university?
-
Well, those people obviously haven't met you In relation to voting tory, I want a proper read of the manifestos to make an informed decision, but currently I think they're the least incompetent of the 3 main parties and may keep this countries economy ticking over. I don't agree with a number of their policies, I think they have reformed benefits incorrectly for one. Glowing endorsement there

I don't know about the Potteries, you're correct, but I know about where I went to University. And just because you lecture there doesn't necessarily mean you know student economics. As said, I am happy for you to prove me wrong, and i will happily hold my hands up!
-
I am more than happy for you to counter my numbers if you wish?

A Toyota Previa would be good for that Tokes? Although Bang Bros probably use Chevvy Day Vans with removable seats...

I don't know, when I went to Uni I worked at a call centre with about 3000 other students, and there was an enormous 118 118 down the road with lots of jobs as well. I think it is fair to say the following: Tuition fees - 27k Accommodation - £9k Living expenses - £4k Supplemented income (job/parents) - £5k That is a loan of £40k.
-
If we all have degrees, it's worthless. We'd all end up doing PHD's and MBA's, which is even more money...
-
Living expenses can be covered by the student, and should be in all honesty. Nothing wrong with working through uni.
