No, we cannot go cheap again - that's what we seem to do over and over again. Not sure - we needed to act in the Summer so we've missed out on a lot of good Managers. However, there must be some half decent managers that we could get in.

You cannot call me fickle. That would mean that I have supported Hughes at any stage in his Saints management. I have consistently said he isn't good enough. It's not fickle, it's prescient.

But two years ago it was Purl. Last season it was Pellegrino? So only now it's the players? Seems a bit convenient to me. Maybe it's because those managers were foreign?

Yep, had enough. Not a big enough step change, and as I said last season and this pre-season, unless we invest in better attacking players, we cannot last with Hughes as he cannot coach/manage a defence. Poor in defence, attack, and in the Managers chair is a bad combination.

Glad Hughes has turned this defence around...

Have to say, not to bothered about that lineup - would prefer Gabbi to Long, but Long will win a lot of knock-on's for Ings.

But it's alright, Hughes plays good, entertaining football. That's what I was told anyway...

Most people were saying Pellegrino was the worst manager in our history? If that was true, and we had poor recruitment, and we had poor players, how were we not 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table?

Meh. Wholly predictable with Hughes as Manager. We look alright going forward, but we're never going to score more than the other side with the way we defend. We could have easily conceded 6 in both games we've played.

Don't think people are complaining about the attack tbf.
