Burnley 1-0 Wolves FT
-
Pascal Gross denied a goal after 11 months I heard. What is it with players who used to play for Ralph scoring against us. I think 5 of Werner's 10 PL goals are against us, and Gross scored last season too I think
-
Offside confirmed
-
I'd like Broja on please for Shane Long, think his direct running could do some damage
-
2-2!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Shane Long needs to know in the PL you don't always get time to take 3 touches in and around the box. No guarantee that was 100% offside, was marginal and the lines would have come out I think.

HALFTIME. Nothing more I'd like than to sell at least 2-3 of our centrebacks I mean ultimately you get what you pay for. If you want a true young talent, you need to pay c. £30m for Fofana as Leicester did, not £10.9m for Salisu. Our centre-backs cost a combined total of about c. £22m (Salisu 10, Lyanco 7, Bednarek 5, Stephens and Valery 0) How have we made Welbeck look like a prime goalscorer with his movement I do not know. Thank the Lord for the JWP free-kick because it has given me a renewed lease of hope, I was close to turning it off.

2-1!!!!

2-0

Credit the Brighton fans clapping them off, then Potter came over to have a look too. Ralph looked like he was about to cry, looked awfully concerned.
-
Only saving grace is we will have c. 10 days rest before that Liverpool game, whilst they’ll have a midweek fixture vs Villa and then the FA Cup final vs Chelsea before playing us. Note that despite all their fixtures they’ll end up looking fitter than our statues.
-
Welbeck's first goal since January... Just the 11th goal Brighton have scored at home this season in their 17th game... cue a 3-0 win for the Seagulls....
-
1-0 already fuck me
-
How bad must Adam Armstrong be in training? Not gonna blame Ralph entirely here, but really the scouting department have a bit to answer for too if he is unable to meet the rigours of the Premier League. £15m is a lot for us to have him just sat on the bench. Other than that, am happy with the team I think but would have preferred Perraud over Tino

Always wondered what happened to the ITKs like Guan, Billy k supersound, Monk Alpine used to post controversial stuff too, remember Barry Sanchez getting banned for his infamous “norwich had a better transfer window” / “ricky van wolfswinkel is better than lambert” Bearsy used to be a funny poster on the odd occasion.

Ings on the bench again, Watkins favoured.

That doesn’t seem right. Would Vieira really be on just £4.5m a year? That equals c. £86.5k a week. I’m sure Zaha was reported to be on £130k a week and Benteke on £110k or something. Surely it undermines the authority of a manager if they are on less than one of their players. Having said that, I’ve seen the £9m figure reported for Erik Ten Hag on a fair few articles, but that puts him at just £175k a week… I’m sure Rashford is on 200k a week alone and Ronaldo will be far more! It might just explain their problems though.

True! (I meant in the UK!)
-
Sometimes it might seep into the players mindset too though. The matches against the big teams are often televised, the opposition scouts/manager/coaches amongst others are watching… If you put in a shift in those games who knows that could secure your big move. Naturally, you’ll be more motivated to raise your games against the champions than against Burnley. I can’t remember if this is true or not but Mane’s second half in the 3-2 win against Liverpool at home where we came back from 2 down was a big factor in his move, he really impressed Klopp that day.

I have to say @TWar I commend the great lengths you go to in your posts and the efforts put through getting the stats together, but you could probably learn to put some brevity in your posts! The more you write the more you leave yourself to getting exposed and it’s why this chat is spilling over to other threads and being repeated ad nauseum.

sorry I’ve always wanted to know what is “pony” in this context or is it open to interpretation

Haha good luck trying to get anyone to sign! Imagine if that applied to our politicians or the general workplace…

Part of me does think we are also giving him lots of minutes to appease Chelsea and get some of their other players on loan and enhance our relationship. The other view is by giving young players more minutes, we're trying to showcase to prospective players to come to us, I'm sure in all discussions we'll just point towards Broja and Livramento from now. Whether that is the correct approach is debateable. I'm looking forward to the summer transfer window now.
