  1. I’d agree if we knew what his salary was. Although reality is his wages are likely to be very immaterial in the grand scheme of things, so club probs thought worth keeping on that front. A two year deal may have sufficed, I hope he shows Lincoln how good he is.

    Danny Ings

They qualified for the new "Europa Conference League" I think - a new 3rd tier competition for Europe starting from 2021/22
  3. As it was at the Euros, you didn't even need to take a test, but simply report a negative result online using the QR code. So reality is it is impossible to monitor who has Covid and who doesn't because of a flaw in the system.

    Danny Ings

I can see Ings leaving for Spurs too - payrise, fancy stadium, will be competing in the top half of the table as opposed to the like bottom 6 scrap we will be in, and will get better service from the players they have. I can also see Vestegaard joining them too. Frustrating, but it's what happens when you get players in the final years of their contract. I really wish it is something we did more often i.e. look for players in the final year of their contract - Adam Armstrong this season is nice but can't remember us doing it to other smaller teams in the football chain.
  5. LCFC were in the same boat as us last night - no one in the England squad but they had Kasper Schmeichel whilst we had Vestegaard. This is what they tweeted: I would say better than "Do your thing, @JVestergaard7 ❤️"
  6. What a horrendous tweet, supporting a player who I think in all likelihood is leaving. Come on England!!
  7. If you can see this, whilst not ‘clear favourites’, the bookies think that should the game go to penalties then England are the favourite to win via that method. I think your Eastleigh vs Brazil example is a but far fetched though, I’d expect Brazil to win 9 times out of 10 - the goalkeeper/penalty takers are miles better than the Eastleigh equivalents.
  8. @whelk this video is for you - what do you make of this? FullSizeRender.mov

    Danny Ings

Yep I think there is more to it than you think. I have a Spurs mate who said all the talks with Conte was happening around Spurs season ticket holder renewals day, and as soon as that was finished the next day Conte talks were over 😄 Just imagine we'd all seen Ings as the poster boy for our 2021/22 kits too, it would give a better indication in my opinion whether he is staying or not in comparison to the dead silence.

    2021/22 Kit

I quite like these kits tbf but I almost never buy a goalkeeper shirt. 3 goalkeeper kits is just excessive in my opinion too but I get that we have a home, away and 3rd shirt these days. GK kits used to be long-sleeved too I swear like 5/6 years ago, I wouldn't mind us having the option for a long-sleeve shirt.
  11. Early to rule out I'd say but completely understand your prediction.
  12. Sadly a rule that will never affect us though MLG Note: *very rarely impact us, we hardly qualify for Europe

    2021/22 Kit

I wonder this too but there are plenty of things illegal out there not necessarily stamped on e.g. illegal streaming I remember on holiday in Turkey from around 2012 you could get football shirts out there for £4-£5, looked very authentic and even today they are still in decent nick, labels haven't peeled off or anything
  14. I said it before, this game is like our semi-final, I'm bloody excited for it though but the timing of the game is an absolute killer. Expect laptops around the country to shut down at 4:30pm!!! It's a 50/50 game in my opinion, I'd like to see us English fans and media alike to be slightly more confident than what I have read, I can imagine Germany will be more than up for it [it helps having 4 WCs and 3 ECs I guess] and given the way the draw has played out can see them begrudgingly reach the final if they were to do us over.
  15. So had we finished 2nd last night, we would have been playing Spain in Copenhagen in the last 16. I genuinely think looking at our side of the draw, the next game could be our semi-final; win that and I would back us to beat the winner of Sweden/Ukraine That would then lead to a semi-final against Netherlands most likely (at Wembley!!!)
  16. Nope not this again, winning breeds confidence so on that front we did well yesterday. Had we come second in the group, the quarterfinals would have been against the winners of Group F most likely anyway so we did the right thing in winning as it also means we stay at Wembley for the next round. I also agree with @Lord Duckhunter, too many of us out here wanting champagne football but I think let's stay positive and wait on the outcome until we berate the team.
  17. Peter Crouch: "I’ve been there with England. You try to act as if everything is going to be straightforward but, deep down, the history and the pressure and expectation leads you to stiffen up and make decisions that you wouldn’t normally consider."
  18. MLG: “Past results are irrelevant. How is knockout games from 1996-2018 going to impact how well England, Harry Kane or others do many years later?”
  19. Can't help but laugh at Spurs. Rejected by so many managers and now Fonseca has fallen through. Gattuso will certainly be an entertaining addition to the Premier League if it happens 😂
  20. Yep agree with this - almost every fixture looks tough except for the 3 new promoted sides, Burnley, Brighton, Palace and Newcastle. Beyond the big 6, Leicester, Everton, West Ham, Wolves, Villa, Leeds are all big clubs we would have to compete with for a top 10 spot. I'm going to stick my neck out somewhat though and predict Wolves won't be as good next season, can see them occupying a bottom 6 position.
  21. England really need Lallana on now to see this game out.
  22. I didn’t think that it was a penalty. PEH missed it anyway.
  23. Yeah I’d hope he would be too. But I don’t mind those low fee, low wage and low risk transfers every season or so. They could be like Bednarek and if it doesn’t work out then easy to get rid.
  24. In past 10 years to have a net spend of £60m is pretty low in my opinion. I’d say there are at least 15 more clubs in those 10 years who have a higher net spend than us (albeit some might be in the Championship) Our record transfer in comparison to many other clubs is also small, again don’t have the number but I’d say there are 15-20 more teams who’ve spent more on one player than us Assuming we’ve received £90m on average last 8 seasons, that’s £720m. How ridiculous are our wages for us that we’re just so handicapped in terms of our expenditure?!
