I have a 24 hour (noon to noon) stopover in L.A next August with wife and 11 year old daughter in tow. Any ideas on hotels/areas to stay, things to see/do? Not bothered about the beach as we are on our way back from French Polynesia. Don't mind a bit of shopping, nice places to eat etc. Only one night so don't mind a bit of a splurge on the budget. Would rather not get involved in any gang violence or car jackings but open to suggestions. All help appreciated.

I taught the new guy behind the counter that Bovril is a hot beefy drink that has been sold at St Mary's for some time and that despite it being his first day, there is no excuse for not familiarising yourself with the products you are expected to sell.

Just back from the game... reminded me of the Chelsea game last year. Did ok for 50 minutes or so then got punished. First half was tight. Thought Morgan and Big vic were excellent. City are a dangerous side and could have easily been in front. They looked like they could score every time they attacked. First goal was always going to be crucial and should have put some money on Toure. Thought he was awesome today. Davis (who had a good game) error led to the inevitable Lampard goal and that was that. Chasing the game and even after the sending off we looked like conceding more. Fair play to City, they are genuine title contenders on that form. Mane was poor in the first half but much better in the 2nd. Would start Long on Wednesday though. Poor games from Tadic and Pelle as mentioned elsewhere. Looked a little bereft of ideas in the final 3rd. Poor crossing and woeful set pieces. Toby can play anywhere imho. Class. MOTM between him and Vic which just goes to show how good Toure was. A home loss to a team who will be pushing to retain their title. No disgrace there. Liked the music at the end. I would suggest, if you haven't used SNHD before, get all your signing up/checking you have access well before the game as there will no doubt be a rush just before kick off.

And yes, the ios stream (for apple devices) should be fine on his ipad mini.

I believe the XBMC add on is a media player for watching on mobile devices (Cellone of Stepgar may be able to help more here!-don't use it myself but site admin will walk you through it). And watching Saints is more important of course.

Yes, there are separate streams for ios and android via XBMC add-on. Watched the last away game on ipad and it was utterly perfect. Must mention I have the elite subscription though (for access to all streams). Well worth trying out for a few quid to see if you're happy with it. I have no connection to the website by the way. Just bloody good and Willow from admin loves us Saints fans. Loads of us on there.

sportsnationhd.tv and no, I suspect the stream will be perfect as usual. Site admin even put a lower res stream on a separate channel for me yesterday because my ancient laptop couldn't handle the higher hd bit rates. Top service. Can't fault it. Best 22 odd quid I've spent this year.
