It's never too late, that's the point. The board can do and say as it pleases if it believes it benefits the club. Yes it is a game of bluff, absolutely, one that Morgan will have to play very carefully since right now, the Club hold all the aces
-
Course you can, you can do what you want as a Club if you believe it to be of benefit for the club, shît happens - just like the pay rise you don't get 'cos the company didn't make the profit expected. What you going to do? You can't walk out as that would be breach of contract btw.
-
He is under contract to us - it really is as simple as that.
-
This is where Morgan sinks or swims.
-
Player's bigger than the club then, yes?
-
The board can do what they want, they hold the contract, they are not obliged to sell. You'd obviously rather MS was left to leave 'cos he's worth it eh?
-
This! Time to fight back, we don't need the money, so if he loses value through not striking or us simply not playing him, it is of no concern to us - it's not money lost after all. He is the one who will suffer, until he toes the line. And anyone who justifies MS's behaviour as acceptable and 'his right' needs to seriously look at themselves and their own motivations and see how far removed from supporting SFC they are.
-
My lad's going (I'm working) 'cos he supports the Saints - obviously you're only there for the good times.
-
How could it possibly be humiliating - we're expecte to lose, 'Pool expected to win - but oh the irony of a 1-0 win to Saints thanks to a Lovren own goal
-
Players aren't the assets of the club, they are simply contracted to the club, not owned by it and are therefore 'off the books'. So what assets are you referring to?
-
Bring Cortese back without his own money? No chance. Would Cortese come back without his own money - only if he could run it with no proper governance so no chance. Bring in a proper, 'footballing' CEO? Yes please. We need one whose 'core skills' reflect our situation.
-
aahhh poo!

So how many of you are really washing your hands of saints?

Nope, got my ST. What I'm seeing hurts though. Just hope it's the old 'Les Kellet' ploy for those of you who remember the Saturday evening wrestling! -
5 year plan is completed surely. Nothing more to be done. 3 year plan is the next 'project'. Why 3 years? That's the length of RK's contract so he's got 3 years to improve SFC or to find another club. So currently, he's between a rock and a hard place, it'll be a testament to his skills (in coaching), vision (in new signings) and tactics (in enhancing team performances) if he succeeds in even keeping us in the PL, not to mention a huge boost to his 'value' (and so, by default to ours). If he fails, it would be a disaster for both him and the club - both would likely be finished. ...and he can't bottle it now, because he will appear to fail before he has even tried, not good on the old CV that.
-
To be perfectly frank, if this is what it means to be a successful (for us) PL club, I'd rather have the 'comfort' (and more matches) in the Championship. We might get left alone a bit then.

Guaranteed first XI start the way it's going, what's not attractive about that?
-
The bedwetters perspective.... Lallana - "I won't play for Saints again" Lovren - "I won't play for Saints again" Chambers - "I won't play for Saints again" Let's treat them like the naughty boys they are and put them in the Nursery class, I'm sure they learn their mistake and start to behave again. But we must never sell them, even if they are bad boys The happy-clappers point of view.... It's not a fire-sale, although I've no idea what the board are doing, but I s'pose it will make sense eventually and we do have more money to replace the players we've lost, probably, maybe, oh dear, I'm beginning to feel a little damp An alternative POV.... If they won't play, sell them, simples - blimey, we've got how much for them? Bring more youngsters through and try that again next year or the year after that! Could end up with sufficient cash to build a decent squad. We're a business, not just a football club Chose your own POV
-
Money, money, money!! Feck all to do with having a world class ex-footballing Manager who can teach him so much when the bright lights of London and MORE MONEY are calling. Modern day commitment on show!
-
Is that a bad business model then? Seems perfectly self-sustaining to me, in fact, that kind of annual income/retention would be the envy of every other PL club (and every profitable business is always for sale to a willing bidder, just like every player is)
-
But, for what it's worth the do actually have contracts in place, so technically, there is no requirement, yet, to give them new ones. All respect to JF and JC, but the Big4 haven't come a-calling for them and if they were to push for a move as per our other ex's, where would they go? Only to a lesser team than SFC which I doubt would be a driver for them career-wise, so it would only be for money.
-
We're owed little or nothing as ST 'owners', and most definitely nothing if you're not.
-
How many more signings do you think we'll make ?

You put this is in quotes so I presume it's an official line - in which case can you post the link to where this is stated please, or is it only another invented pile of SR twaddle? -
Amy Macdonald from the Games opening ceremony on the One Show last evening - oh those stunning pale blue eyes! Damn fine voice too Are we really that lucky to be in for Clasie .... https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/clasie-deal-in-pipeline-for-saints-1734066.html
