I suspect we do more gentlemens agreements than release clauses. Would explain why we get a high percentage of player tantrums. Club makes a promise then renegades on it. I'd say Gibson and Armstrong are as good as done. That would leave us 20-30m from the vvd monies + whatever transfer budget we have allocated (from premier league /TV) for 18/19 season. Best guess 30m? So £50-60m still to spend potentially + I'd expect some outgoing (Tadic, Boufal) so would expect our spend to increase accordingly. It's been a slow start but I think activity will start to speed up now.

Results improved without both so they are doing something right. They've lost 8 league games in the 3 season since VVD left. 8 loses in 114 games We sell we get worse.

Reading the Celtic forum and chatting to Celtic fans this weekend they view outgoing transfers a lot different than us. Reason being is they have faith in the recruitment team to sign a better player + they can be confident that any funds received will get reinvested back into the team. That's my main gripe with our outflows....we are so hit n miss (far more miss lately) with recruitment and money does seem to just vanish. I'd prefer we kept even average players as I have zero faith in Reed and / or Wilson

I agree it's perfectly normal for players to sign 4 years contracts (7 years vvd) and want out half way through (1 year in vvd) We should not stop in there way. Contracts, loyalty ect ect it's overrated #freetadic
