  1. Not good enough for Spurs - not good enough for us? That's ridiculous I think some seriously underestimate how far behind Spurs and the top 6 sides we now are.
  2. At least now we have Ralph over Hughes #positives
  3. I think some of you are now aware of the mess Les Reed caused and was causing. Probably now realize why I was so desperate to get him out of our club. Clubs hands are now tied and we need to clean up the Les mess for another few transfer windows. Horrible but our reality
  4. Yep. Elyounoussi Forster Hoedt Lemina Austin Carrillo That's 80m in transfers and c3-400k a week in wages!!!
  5. Wigan didn't. Same in 90s really. When United and Arsenal dominated
  6. Nonsense. Leicester won the league recently. Spurs were in a champions league final and Watford, Cardiff, Wigan, Hull, Palace and Villa have been in Fa cup final last few years.
  7. Could take us another 2 or 3 transfer windows to fully recover from the Les Reed era Just hope Ralph can squeeze the max out of a fairly average looking squad. Disappointing but expected window for us. Would need a huge 24 hours to salvage it now.
  8. That's 2 out of 50 now for CF!
  9. Extra materials to launch at the Pompey scum when they return to the prem in 2035
  10. Lemina is IMHO one of our top 5 players. Id be annoyed if we offloaded on the cheap especially to a non top 6 prem rival. We look lightweight in the CM department already.... if Hoj got injured we'd lack quality in CM Get him fit, get him motivated and get him playing
  11. The power of influence is strong. Leak out some big club links, ease out a few articles saying X is the next big thing.... Fans absolutely lap it up. The brand and image portrayed is much more valuable than performances and reality now. We need to do the same with Hoedt....
  12. I don't mean to pick on you here as loads are guilty of this, but you've summed up the modern football fan in two v quick posts On one thread you've described Seri as being "very poor" last season and then in the next you'd be "quite upset" if we didn't buy Philips I'm sure you'll deny this and claim you watch every club and every player intensely but my hunch is you've really seen very little of Seri or Philips play but like a lot of modern footy fans can rate a player purely based on league finish, media hype and agent excitement. Performances, stats, facts ect..... Over rated!? For consistency Seri scored 1 and assisted 3 last season. That's the exact same as Philips! Seri however played in c15 less games + in a tougher league + for a struggling side + his record prior to last season is way way way better than Philips. But one is "very poor" the other "upset if we lose out to villa"
  13. Think Everton might struggle next season tbh. That squad wasn't great before and now losing possibly the best player in gueye. Could be a long hard season for them.... Saying that kinda thought they'd struggle last season and they didn't so who knows.
  14. Villa are going for it. Will they do a wolves or fulham? Or somewhere in between maybe?
  15. Clynes contract at Liverpool ends next June. So horrible timing for him. He will be available on a free next summer
  16. Fulham bought a lot and spent a lot... Got relegated Wolves bought a lot and spent a lot... Finished 7th Huddersfield bought little and spent little... Got relegated Spurs bought little and spent little.... Finished top 6 and CL final For every "example" of how not to do things. There is a club doing the same and getting the opposite outcome Do we have many examples of clubs selling the best players constantly and succeeding longterm? If the club is stupid enough to continue with the formula that has driven our heavy Les Reed lead decline then the club has learned v little No club (no business) will survive without investment
  17. Jiménez and Dendoncker were both loans with a commitment to buy. Similar to Ings. Fulham had no agreements like this. + I said "bought" not loans. You've listed 7 Fulham loans in your 15 ++ I said "last summer" and you've included players fulham got in January. So as I said and stand by... Wolves "bought" more and spent more than fulham Point is buying loads and spending lots doesn't guarantee failure or success. Hope this isn't too complicated
  18. Got a feeling this squad is just 2-3 short of being v.good.
  19. Might be easier if you list the players signed by both and price they paid? As you seem to have some complicated inclusion/exclusion policy
  20. Doesn't guarantee failure either. That's the point.
  21. Worst grass is not greener example..... JF went to WHU earned more, then China and earned even more. Then 2nd in French league + CL football. Not forgetting winning UNL with portugal. Seems grass is very much greener.
  22. Or doing a Wolves? Wolves bought more players and spent more than fulham last summer. But they don't get used as an example as they did well?
  23. Spurs look a little light now at FB (L/R) They'll be gutted that they didn't cash in on Trippier last summer. After his WC performances they'd have probably got double what AM just paid.
  24. I'm not so sure. QPR have some mega rich dudes around. Just finished Joey Bartons autobiography and he talks about his move from Newcastle to QPR. Says he really didn't want to move as felt settled at Newcastle. Goes on to say that he was earning £30k pw at Newcastle and thought he'd go proper ridiculous with his wage demands expecting QPR to say no chance Says he asked for 80k pw and that Tony Fernandes paused for about 1 minute then says err would you take 76k pw Also covered large % of Bartons wages during the Marseille loan. Appreciate that's a few years ago and they may now be a little wiser/better at negotiations but across the QPR owners there is some serious wealth
