You definitely need to turn the shirt inside out and apply it to the back of the transfer - if you put the liquid on the front of the sponsor it will just cause the ink to run onto the fabric and could possibly stain it. The plasticky front print peels off quite easily (do it bit-by-bit, don't be tempted to do it all in one go), but I was initially left with some of the glue residue still on the shirt (so essentially a transparent but still slightly visible outline of the sponsor logo shape) but after a couple of standard wash cycles that's gone too.
