  1. I don’t know why this ‘Jones plays 5 at the back’ and ‘long ball rubbish’ stuff is sticking around - last night we played 4 at the back all game, we played one defensive midfielder in Diallo, and we played a front three. The only time the ball went long was Lyanco sometimes trying an aerial ball when out of options. People can’t judge games on their own merit, every loss seems to result in people just replaying the Forest game in their head and thinking that’s what we’ve just watched.
  2. If someone showed you a video of Diallo’s ball winning last night only, you’d have thought he was the best CDM in the league, it was superb. But he still gave the ball so often, which is why some won’t have seen him as having a good game. If he could be more decisive on the ball, he’d be a great asset to us. He has always shown glimpses of being a real good player.
  3. Not sure I buy anything about wanting first team football if Man City are a potential suitor, unless he thinks going to City means we’ll spend £10mil on him and chuck him straight in the first team.
  4. Spurs did Willian’s medical before he went and signed for Chelsea, if I remember rightly.
  5. Equally if he suddenly starts any of the cup games then it’s not a great example to set to others - holding the club to ransom as a 17 year old essentially
  6. Bazunu Lyanco DCC Salisu KWP Lavia JWP Alcaraz/Diallo Edozie Mara Orsic Probably what i’d be hoping for. Not sure Che will be much use up against the land of the giants, would rather go at them with some pace and running, and keep the ball on the ground as much as possible. Orsic against Trippier probably best, and Edozie’s trickery against Burn on the other side.
  7. Equally maybe after the weekend they’ve decided they’ll up the budget/requirements when it comes to a new addition in that area and now think we need better than Jackson. We don’t have another league game until the window has closed, so whilst we’re all frustrated we haven’t had the additions for the last few games, there’s no point getting more frustrated now until the window closes and we see how everything looks.
  8. Yeah i’ve no doubt we were interested, just saying it’s possible we would have him at the right price but weren’t making him a priority - the ‘negotiations’ had been talked about for a week or two now and even the headlines recently were that ‘talks would continue’. So it doesn’t appear we were going all out to get him in. Let’s be honest, if we really wanted him and were willing to pay what Villarreal wanted, then he wouldn’t be going to Bournemouth. So hoping we’ve got someone else lined up, but I may be disappointed!
  9. Can’t say i’m overly disappointed if we don’t sign Jackson, as everyone was saying he wasn’t that great and he isn’t a centre forward. It would, however, be disappointing if we really wanted him and we’ve lost him to Bournemouth. The optimist in me says we were never as interested as the media says, given that we supposedly wanted him on loan initially, and that we might be pursuing someone better. It’s the hope that kills, as they say!
  10. The ball will be in play for about 30 minutes out of 90, if we’re lucky - they’ll be wasting it from the first kick and hoping to get a 0-0 or 1-0 if they’re lucky.
  11. Agree with others, huge to add some experience to the squad. I don’t care that his positioning is poor, his ability with the ball at his feet is shocking, his attitude seems to be shite and he’s comfortably worse than our three starting CB’s so shouldn’t ever get on the pitch. All we need is experience, and now we’ve got it, thank god.
  12. Not something I denied? But to say football games cannot be decided by refereeing decisions is completely untrue. They absolutely can, and often are.
  13. Some of the worst logic i’ve ever seen - if a referee disallows a perfectly good goal, of course you can blame the referee. At the top level one goal can be the difference, it’s very fine margins.
  14. Did his ACL a month or so back
  15. With all these YHGTI and OEMBG players on board, it’s a wonder why we’re so crap!
  16. He’s old though, which means he’s experienced, so he must be good - get him in!!
  17. Is Danjuma actually good though? Didn’t do anything for Bournemouth until they were relegated to the Championship (which admittedly he tore up), then a big money move to Villarreal but now being allowed back out on loan? Also only linked to probably the two worst teams in the PL besides us.
  18. Whenever i’ve seen him for Villa this season, he’s still as sharp as ever. Still manages to create space for a shot from nothing all the time.
  19. I really like him, and I think defensively he can be brilliant. But on the ball he is pretty horrendous at times. I think after that City game last season we would’ve all thought he’d be off to a top Prem club soon, but the fact the links are now Monaco and Marseille is probably a reflection of the drop off he has had since that game.
  20. Not surprised - I know they’ll bleat on about being a ‘bigger club’ etc, but they’re a mess, we’re close to his home, and he used to play for Liverpool. There’s no way they should be getting him ahead of us, if we want him.
  21. Would be over the moon if we got Ings back, but would equally be absolutely gutted if we let him go to another team around us, as he could really be the difference in the right system.
  22. Villa have just reached an agreement on a 19 year old striker from MLS - may be one for the future, but may be one that makes Ings a little bit more surplus to requirements..
  23. Don’t think they have a pot to piss in from a FFP perspective, only links for them seem to be loans
  24. Secret Scout clearly has contacts for Chelsea and City youngsters, not sure why anyone would deny it, it’s pretty clear for all to see.
  25. No manager gets it right all the time - like Pep selling Lavia and signing Phillips for about 4 times as much.
