Harry Winks seemingly getting the ‘he must be good enough for Saints because he’s played for a big club’ treatment. Wouldn’t surprise me if a fresh start here got more out of him than Spurs have in recent years, but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he’s good enough to get in our starting 11 currently.

I’m quite optimistic for this season, based on our window so far. If we were to buy Broja i’d be excited about the season! Would be a good show of intent.

Can’t blame the kid for taking the money at his age, but likewise can’t blame the club for not trying to match anything Newcastle are offering. Don’t think this move reflects bad on either party. We’ve lost plenty of talented youngsters over the years, like most clubs have, but we’ve had plenty of successes and hopefully plenty more to come.

Personally I just wonder if the news outlet reporting about Lyanco going there just made a mistake and meant to write about Valery. There’s been a number of reports about us sending Valery over there.

Wasn’t that always said about Poch too? Think Pep has a way of isolating players he doesn’t fancy too. Koeman definitely did. Don’t think it’s particularly uncommon.

We seem to be taking a bit of a Leipzig approach, and having two mobile but inexperienced defenders who aren’t afraid to put a foot in didn’t hurt them too much with Upamecano and Konate together. Excited for this one, hope he settles quickly cos we need it!

I like the sound of 4 year deal + option of 5th, assuming the option is in our hands.

Also agree he’d replace Henderson just fine at Liverpool, but not sure I see them coming for him. If I was him I think i’d probably be interested in Spurs because he’d probably start most games and under Conte I think they’ve the potential to actually achieve something now.

Maybe they knew that both announcements would be followed by people abusing both players on social media and thought what’s the point?

Would definitely have him back assuming the fee is half of what we sold him for or less. Would be good business to be honest, he’s a guarantee of probably 10 goals if he’s fit for 25+ games a season, there aren’t many players you can say that about and we definitely need it. I loved him here, i’ve wished him nothing but the worst since he left, and i’d welcome him back in a heartbeat. That’s just what being a fan is about 😄 everyone would forget he ever left once he’s scored for the first time. Don’t see him returning though, sadly.

10 years of safety and only one genuine relegation battle, with European football, 2 FA Cup semi finals and a League Cup final we should’ve won. Some fantastic players, some fantastic football, some really good managers and great moments. It’s had its downs but for a club running on probably the smallest budget in the league when averaged over that period, i’d say we’ve done pretty well. Hopefully we’re at the beginning of a bit of an up period again but time will tell.

Always thought he had a bit about him, but I don’t think we’d have seen it here, he probably needed the rejection/fresh start. However I was disappointed with the fee and hoped we’d have extended contract and loaned him out as one good season in the Championship can be worth 8-10mil easy these days. Never mind, hope he does well.
