  1. They have Inaki Williams too, don’t know if he’s playing, but could be talking about both of them
  2. Wasn’t there reports that he was homesick too? He never really seemed to settle after his initial burst on the scene. I loved him, we criminally misused him, what a waste.
  3. If in the unlikely event we could go ahead, Goodison is going to turn very quickly, they are not a happy bunch.
  4. It does seem extremely coincidental that the night we sell Ings, half the league are in advanced talks with Blackburn and near their valuation, over a player we’ve been haggling over. As mentioned, maybe they’re moving quickly now they know we have money. More likely (imo), Blackburn think they can get more money out of us.
  5. Maupay cost over £20mil a few years back too, it’s the going rate for a decent Championship striker
  6. It’s a fake account, winding people up
  7. Given that he’s basically saved Ings’ career, i’d be surprised if he hates Ralph. He was moving round like a cripple under Hughes, and even at the start of his near golden boot season. Clearly the fitness work did him no harm.
  8. Sky reporting Palace in advanced talks with Armstrong…
  9. I’d sell Vestergaard if we could get anything near 20mil. Not good enough to let go for free next year.
  10. I’d be very happy with Ampadu, and fits the bill of us being interested in more players from big 6 teams with a buy back/sell on clause.
  11. It’s a good move from Villa too, put big money down to wrap it up early, cos I think the longer it went on, the more likely he was to become the backup choice of a bigger club.
  12. That’s what Ings’ camp were saying, can’t imagine the club gave two shits where the £30mil came from. It’s different to saying a player won’t be sold because the club don’t want to sell him.
  13. Our best shot with Abraham is probably doing a buy with sell-on/buy back like we’ve done with Livramento, may allow us to bring the price down to a more reasonable level.
  14. I wouldn’t be happy with Sorloth as the Ings replacement, because as you say, we already have Adams who does everything but score regularly. My hope would be any interest in Sorloth is in addition to Armstrong, giving us Adams, Armstrong, Sorloth, Tella as our striking options whilst Obafemi and Long leave. I think that’s a pretty good mix of styles personally.
  15. No one scores at Palace, in Hodgson’s tenure. 24 in 34 for Trabzonspor in Turkey on loan meant Leipzig signed him for £20mil so he’s spent a year playing in the CL and Bundesliga, and done alright.
  16. Whilst almost certainly never going to happen in a million years, if we signed Armstrong and Abraham i’d probably pass out. Sorloth would be an interesting one, shite for Palace but it’s a bit of a strikers graveyard - was amazing in his loan spell in Turkey which meant Leipzig signing him, and offers a big focal point which Ralph always liked in the past and that we’ve missed since Lambert/Pelle.
  17. It’s a shame for Ings because I think he really could’ve done a job for a big club, even as back up to a Kane/Lukaku. But I can imagine we got £30mil off Villa so that they could get it done asap before those bigger clubs come at the end of the window, I don’t think Spurs/City/Chelsea would’ve paid £30mil imo.
  18. Few mentions on twitter that Palace have agreed a deal for Armstrong, but can’t find a source of note. Regardless, Palace fans seem pretty excited about the idea, with some even questioning it on the grounds of him being too good for them..
  19. The only player out there that I am very confident would be a success here is Tammy Abraham. Beyond that, all the other names mentioned are a gamble. A Championship striker who’s scored 28 goals in a season for a shit team, and is youngish and available for less than £20mil isn’t a huge gamble imo. Bamford, Watkins, Adams have all stepped up to Premier League level fairly comfortably in recent years, and none of them got near the goals Armstrong got last year.
  20. He’s not good enough to let him go for free next year imo. If he isn’t going to sign, there’s good money in him for us I think, so get rid.
  21. Yeah I think i’m over this one already tbh. If ever there’s a time to lose a star player, it’s probably when you haven’t seen your team live for nearly two years. I just wanna go back to a game, couldn’t care if we’re fielding the U23’s tbh.
  22. I don’t think we’re lacking pace - Adams, Tella, Obafemi, Walcott and to a lesser extent Redmond and Armstrong all bring that in attacking areas. But pace only gets you so far, so if one of Edouard and Armstrong is quick and one is a good finisher, i’d rather have the good finisher please.
  23. Diallo been really good, got back that nice turn/agility he had when he first arrived. Perraud getting up and down well.
  24. Neither do I
  25. You’ve just said you haven’t seen him play, so not sure how you’ve come to that conclusion. He was a couple of goals behind Ivan Toney in the league, who is playing in a much better team, and i’m sure this place would explode with excitement if we signed Toney.
