  1. You're right it wasn't as central and also it was closer to goal, i'm not sure that JPS would have been up to get it up and over the wall as easily. Also agree with many others that David McGoldrick was superb last night.
  2. Wolves were given 5,500 for their game there a fortnight ago, but David Luker has been told we will get 4,300.
  3. I was already organising 2 minibuses from Salisbury for this one, even before this weeks events, and think even more will want to go now. I've been told by David Luker that we will be getting 4300 tickets for this game and with the number of people I know who want ticket I don't think that number will be sufficient, and I think tickets will be like goldust once they go on sale. Im sure that many fans will end up disappointed, but there are already contingency plans for a beam back to St Mary's if necessary.
  4. I see on official site ticket office opening late due to the high demand for tickets http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11583 If you havn't got a ticket already get on dwon there !!! Lets get the ground full
  5. Alpine if we had gone into administration and then got relegated the 10 points would get deducted next season anyway (see attached article) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7965152.stm So there would have been no benefit going into administration last week, unless we were certain we would stay up eg Darlington.
  6. Phil To gain access to seats in the marvellous stadium at Bloomfield Road, you did so via a walkway at the front of the stand, which ran between the perimeter hoardings and the stand. The fan in question was in the walkway area leaning on the hoarding, and was in a designated spectator area ! Although having said that the authorities were not keen on supporters staying in the walkway area too long.
  7. The Dell bar is certainly open to anyone every lunchtime apart from Saturday matchdays, I went there for lunch last week, had a very good meal and not too expensive either.
  8. Tickets definately available on the day http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11522 According to the official site we've sold around 850 tickets so far, so should be around 1000 up there who should give the team good support.
  9. 20 + London Saints going up Friday afternoon, returning after game. 3 of those are also staying for Saturday night, and being joined by 3 Dutch Saints who flying over Friday and staying friday night in Liverpool, Saturday night Blackpool.
  10. Yep monday is bank holiday. NB Kick off is 1.15PM see link http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11480

    Birmingham

Just did the same, said only 120 tickets from original 1041 left, but even if they sell out tickets will still be available on day at Brum. So looks like we'll have a good level of support up there on Saturday.
  12. Why do think they won't sell tickets on the day ? Birmingham attendances are not very good considering their position in the league, and i'm sure if Saints sell out the 1041 tickets they were initally given, that they will be given more and there will be sales on the day as happened at Bristol City.
  13. You obviously weren't in Bristol Saturday On arrival at the station you were met by a wall of Police in Riot gear. In the ground despite there being no trouble at all, the Police decided half way through the second half to surround a complete block of Saints fans for no reason at all, obstucting the view of many and likley to provoke trouble not stop it. After the second goal I left the ground so missed the goings on in the ground at the fianl whistle, but once outside the ground there was a wall of police, until you got into the road by the park where you came into contact with the City fans. In this location which was a potential trouble spit if ever here was as this is the route all fans going back to the station had to take there was not a Policeman top be seen. The Police seemed to have just one agenda, nick as many Saints fans as possible, Crowd safety appered to be the last thing on their agenda.

  15. Just spoke to my contact in ticket office (I get tickets for London saints) and was told 250 tickets returned to Watford and tickets definately available on the day Was also told there is currently inspection going on at Watford, not for pitch (which is Ok), but for stands and surrounding areas / roads to make sure they are safe for spectators
  16. I think we might even get 100 up there (20+ London Saints going on the train)
  17. From what i've been told, it is Stern John is the 14k a week man, although last season I believe Sunderland were paying half of that as part of Kenwyn Jones transfer deal. The goings on sound very sad indeed surely Lowe must realise that he has very little support from ordinary shareholders or supporter. Mind you he seems to be living in a Mugabe like world where in his opinion he's done nothing wrong yet for some reason everyone is against him.
  18. IMO As Its on Setanta rather ITV I think it's more likley to sell out
  19. Don't know times from Southampton as going from Salisbury, but trains from Basingstoke to Reading leave at 07 and 37 if thats any help and take 24 mins.
  20. 4 for 2 deals are avaialbe on the day, however as Lady Saint states above they are not usable on cross country trains. So you need to use SW Trains up to Basingstoke and change there for locals Basingstoke trains 2 an hour going up (takes just under 30mins) up if you are using that particular deal.
  21. Not a problem Phil, there is now an hourly service in addition to Bristol trains that starts at Salisbury goes to Southampton then via Eastleigh to Romsey and then back via Eastlieigh, Southampton to Salisbury so plenty of room for those from Salisbury or Romsey and avoid all those from Bristol both going down and back.
  22. As Preston's 2nd goal flew I and many others dissapeared downstairs for a beer, like so many games this season we looked dead and burried. Everyone at half time was dispondent, there was no optmism to be found at all. But it was soon evident in the second half that the players attitude had changed, and this was reflected in the vocal support Saints recived well before we got a goal back. The celebrations when we equalised were quite something, but nothing compared to those when McGoldrick scored the winner, with a mini pitch invasion and everyone going mental. It was a great comeback and excellent second half preformance and BWP and Oscar could easily have scored themsleves had it not been for last ditch clearences by Preston. All in all it made the 7+ hour train trip back to Salisbury most enjoyable. Some days you wonder just why you bother, but games like Saturday's make it all worth while.
  23. A quick update regarding Clydie's Funeral, which I attended in Charing (near Ashford, kent) last Friday, along with 20-30 other London Saints all adorned in our Saints Shirts. see write on London Saints website http://www.londonsaints.com/moxie/newsslug/clydie-weekes.shtml Funeral was more of a celebration of his life than a solemn affair, and it made everyone who attended aware of just how much Clydie did for others in his lifetime. Only shame about whole thing was that the vicar was a skate ! I bet even Clydie saw the funny side of that.
  24. 4 of us going up from Salisbury I would imagine only about 500 in total though
  25. If you have a network card, try return to Banbury using card, then a return from Banbury to Coventry. Price using this option from Salisbury £31.50
