We need more players who are average for us. -
I think he would be crazy not to. He would get a lot more champions league playing time with us than elsewhere. And he would get a transfer to a better team in 2016.

I don't think we do. I just think we only hear about it when they leave or come close to leaving.

This is the way to do it. Not a series of pointless back and forth bickering, but one good clever post. Thumbs up.

If it happens, it makes my earlier post wrong--unless Mitchell is just leaving for the pay increase. But I see no signs that the Spurs ownership is willing to yield the authority and have the patience that would be necessary to make a system like Southampton's work. Absent that, all they are buying is Mitchell's personal scouting talent and knowledge base and it seems unlikely that is so special and unique that it would make a big difference.

He might have thought he was expressing confidence that we could make the champions league and indicating that he would want to stay if we did. But I don't know.

It seemed pretty clear to me that he was talking about moving next summer and not in January.

I agree that you would be happy with this. That is my prediction. I predict WLDD which is five points and wouldn't make me happy.

Paul Mitchell leaving Southampton to work at another Premier League team taking over what would be Les Reed's job at Southampton makes sense. Assuming, Mitchell is not just interested in getting a big pay raise, Tottenham is not that place. He would need to go to a club with some stability, an owner willing to spend on money on infrastructure that will not immediately benefit the team on the field, and an owner who is committed to a long term plan. There are such teams--Arsenal, Manchester City, and Swansea come to mind, but none of them have a need for someone like Mitchell right now. What about the other teams? Chelsea is doing fine. Man United will view themselves as too big and would not give him the authority he would need. Newcastle and Aston Villa fail the ownership support and stability test--although a new owner at either team could do worse than hire someone like Mitchell. Newcastle has everything that is needed to become a big team again under the right owner. Everton is going with the Martinez plan and it seems unlikely things will change there (either for the better or for the worse) while he remains manager. Burnley cannot believe they are going to stay up so setting up something like this right now would be financially hopeless. Setting up a system like Southampton's is exactly what I would have expected the ownership of Liverpool to do given their Moneyball inclinations. I think they believed they had done so with Rodgers, but depending upon what happens this year, they may be ready for a reboot at the end of the season. West Ham is a reasonable candidate, but I doubt they would make the change now when things are going well. If they have another disappointing season maybe. Certainly, their upcoming new stadium and the London location would make them an attractive place to build a new style of team. For that matter, the other London teams, Crystal Palace and QPR, would be good candidates for implementing a good new Southampton-like system. However, QPR's owner needs to be convinced to be rational and patient and Crystal Palace would need a new owner--which might be happening. Stoke and Sunderland would be decent candidates for this sort of plan--I can't speak to whether they already have the people there they believe can do the job or whether they might want to hire an outsider. I do remember reading the Sunderland and Stoke boards after our recent games with them and the fans wanted to know why their teams--which they viewed as comparable in status to Southampton--couldn't do what Southampton was doing. The owners of Hull and West Brom do not appear to be a suitable candidates for this type of approach. Leicester could do it, but they need to know whether they are staying up first. To boil it all down: I would not be surprised if Paul Mitchell were to leave Southampton next summer to run another premier league team but it would make no sense to leave now or to go to Tottenham.

But if the Madrid buy out option was part of the deal, there would be no violation of the agreement when Madrid exercises it and no reason for us to be upset by it. In any case, it is premature to worry about it since we don't know what the player will want when the time comes.

Google translate says: "Iceland is doing well, has a stiff side's from a good organization. We will have a lot on the bin to keep the win at home." So Red Devil Toby Alderweireld today Neerpede looked forward to the opponent of the Belgians in the friendly match on Wednesday at the King Baudouin Stadium (20h45). The opportunity is not impossible that the defender of Southampton Wednesday starting center back, captain Vincent Kompany is after the sucker with a slight calf injury and coach Marc Wilmots cried with Thomas Meunier an extra right back on. "Central back is my favorite position and I also play at Southampton. It is also good at right back, with the national team but I play where the coach needs me," the 25-year-old Antwerp. second It is currently outstanding with the defender. Last season he joined Atletico Madrid do not often play, but his loan turn to Premier League club Southampton proved a hit. The Saints do it with their second place in the magnificent position in England and Alderweireld plays on a cloud. "Learned a lot in Madrid" "It is true that I might be in one of the best periods of my life is," he said. "I also feel happy and well and have a great feeling about the Premier League. I did not play much last year I have learned a lot in Madrid, but my hunger to perform and weekly stand was just particularly great. I now wants to give a whole season everything for Southampton and then see whether the club wants to take me permanently from Atletico. "

"Southampton's fairytale voyage under new manager Ronald Koeman shows no signs of sinking like the famous RMS Titanic that left the city's port in 1912 after a fourth successive league win at home to Leicester City on Saturday (Sunday NZ time). " I never knew the Titanic was on a good winning streak just before it sank.

We need a top three finish to be sure of avoiding Europa league

I supported a football team that won all the time for nearly 20 years (the San Francisco 49ers). It never got boring. When they started losing again it was not fun. But the memories helped.

I find it hard to argue with this post--which is too bad because I am always looking for topics for my blog.
