  1. Starmer really needs to man up and stop pussyfooting around the issue. He seems terrified of becoming a target for Farage and Badenoch for going soft on Brexit whilst more and more people realise what an unmitigated disaster it has been for the UK and our economy. Brexit isn’t going to be overturned any time soon, but we need to find ways to make it work better for us (and the members of the EU).

  4. Trump lied about food prices? Surely not! https://eu.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/12/13/trump-food-prices-groceries-inflation-down/76949414007/ https://www.alternet.org/trump/trump-groceries/

  6. Surprise, surprise. The same old fish end up on the line.
  7. This from a highly respected Reform MP. This man could hold a cabinet post in a few years time. https://metro.co.uk/2024/12/09/internet-baffled-lee-anderson-says-men-still-deal-somme-22153383/amp/
  8. Apart from Queen Victoria, other famous people who married their cousins include; Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Edgar Allen Poe and H.G. Wells. As far as I know, none of them were Muslims. Also Queen Elizabeth 2nd married her second cousin, once removed. Sibling shaggers, the lot of them eh hypo! 🫣
  9. Why should I be bitter? It just proves yet again that you are a narcissist. You continue to do my job for me. 🤗 Millions of people voted for Trump. It doesn’t make him any less of a lying, narcissistic scumbag.
  10. I have just had lunch with an aquantance who lives locally. Lovely fella but he is a Trump fan boy which is a bit odd because he is also a devout Christian but seems to have a blind spot when it comes to Trump’s sexual assault conviction, his misogyny, his racism, his total lack of suitability for the job and his congenital lying. I’m not sure that Jesus was big on gabbing pussy or treating every else as inferior beings but hey ho. Not surprisingly he thinks that Farage is the answer to the country’s problems and will be voting Reform at the next election. He is “middle England” all over. God help us all if there are lots more like him out there.
  11. But it’s not siblings it it? As I’m sure even you know, a sibling is a brother or sister and the debate isn’t about that. Personally I don’t have a view either way but, from years of experience, anything that you oppose is probably worthy of support.
  12. They both do it and it is legal here so I expect some white Anglo-Saxons do it too. So what is your issue?
  13. The whole human race is inbred Whitey. Granted, some more than others.
  14. You really need to get a full time job, or at least a hobby. It is an opinion piece. I am sharing someone’s opinion. The colour of her skin has nothing to do with the criticism as well you know. On the other hand you were the one getting upset about footballers taking the knee against racism. Remember? Does the slogan “Black Lives Matter” still upset you? Hypocrite. “They” are only good for pulling my pints? Do you ever stop to think how stupid you sound? Clearly not. What is it with you people that you become so desperate that you try and distort reality in order to make yourself seem more important? We see it with Johnson and Trump and now we see it with people like you on social media. It’s like living in a parallel universe. One minute you are having a go at me for being woke and defending those protesting about racism and the next you are accusing me of racism. You really can’t see how odd that is can you? You made yourself look stupid on TUI and managed to get yourself banned. You haven’t learned any lessons have you?
  15. Kemi seems to be determined to give Liz Truss a run for her money. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/kemi-badenoch-declares-lunch-for-34298950.amp
  16. It’s been a Godsend for Starmer. Farage has got Badenoch so rattled that she seems more intent on appealing to Reform/would be Reform voters than those middle ground floating voters if PMQs are anything to go by. She seems to have forgotten though that she was part of the government that presided over record immigration. Farage’s problem at the moment is that he is only attracting people like himself into his party. To grow a serious base he will need to attract some serious politicians with serious politics, something other than demonising immigrants or the EU.
  17. You have a problem with people doing what they want even when it doesn’t impact others or you. We saw it with assisted dying and now with the legal practice of first cousins marrying. I think you need to ask yourself why it upsets you so much that people should live their lives, or end their lives, as they wish. You’re not a happy little soul are you? You come across like a male version of Kemi Badenoch. As far as I know, none of the people I know who have had children born with deformities or congenital health issues were of parents who were related. Should we stop all those from reproducing if there is the slightest chance of birth defects? Sounds a bit Brave New World to me.
  18. Kemi makes a dog’s dinner of PMQs again. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/dec/11/the-tories-are-living-in-an-echo-chamber-with-kemi-badenoch-as-its-mouthpiece
  19. Given the form of both teams I am expecting both of the teams to lose.
  20. Now that Farage has finally made into Parliament and we have to take him and his party seriously, perhaps they should have their own thread. I’ll start. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/dec/10/nigel-farage-man-of-the-people-welcomes-his-latest-billionaire-to-reform
  21. Just wait until they find out that Jewish people do it too!
  22. Like everyone else here I have absolutely no idea what is going on at board level. If though, it has been decided at the highest level that the club will play the same way at all levels, then unless they make a u turn they have painted themselves into a corner. If they sack Martin they will need to replace him with someone who will play with similar tactics (which kind of defeats the object of making a change). I suspect the reason we haven’t heard from them yet is because they find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place.
  23. If someone had asked me last week if it was legal or not I wouldn’t have had a clue. This is a bit of an eye opener. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage I did hear today that there are genetic tests that can be carried out to determine whether there would be any problems with any children produced from such a union. It seems like it is widespread in some parts of the world and has clearly not been illegal here for some time. Is it such a problem if those concerned can be assured that their children will not inherit genetic problems? Apparently you are allowed to marry your first cousin under Judaism. Be prepared for an outburst of claims of antisemitism if it is banned here!
  24. So it has been legal here since the Middle Ages (when marrying off children was also a thing) how come it has taken so longer before we are told that we should be angry about it now in 2024? Given that it has been legal here for so long there must be plenty of cousins who have married through the ages and are planning to get married now. If it is made illegal, will these people separate or just stay together outside of marriage?
  25. Why? The EPL is a waste of time unless you are owned by people with more money than sense. Even then there is no guarantee that you can be competitive. It is full of overpaid prima-donnas and VAR. I wouldn’t have a problem with staying in the Championship. It is much more like Division 1 when I started following football back in 1965/66.
