Starmer really needs to man up and stop pussyfooting around the issue. He seems terrified of becoming a target for Farage and Badenoch for going soft on Brexit whilst more and more people realise what an unmitigated disaster it has been for the UK and our economy. Brexit isn’t going to be overturned any time soon, but we need to find ways to make it work better for us (and the members of the EU).

It’s been a Godsend for Starmer. Farage has got Badenoch so rattled that she seems more intent on appealing to Reform/would be Reform voters than those middle ground floating voters if PMQs are anything to go by. She seems to have forgotten though that she was part of the government that presided over record immigration. Farage’s problem at the moment is that he is only attracting people like himself into his party. To grow a serious base he will need to attract some serious politicians with serious politics, something other than demonising immigrants or the EU.

You have a problem with people doing what they want even when it doesn’t impact others or you. We saw it with assisted dying and now with the legal practice of first cousins marrying. I think you need to ask yourself why it upsets you so much that people should live their lives, or end their lives, as they wish. You’re not a happy little soul are you? As far as I know, none of the people I know who have had children born with deformities or congenital health issues were of parents who were related. Like everyone else here I have absolutely no idea what is going on at board level. If though, it has been decided at the highest level that the club will play the same way at all levels, then unless they make a u turn they have painted themselves into a corner. If they sack Martin they will need to replace him with someone who will play with similar tactics (which kind of defeats the object of making a change). Given that it has been legal here for so long there must be plenty of cousins who have married through the ages and are planning to get married now.
