This far down the line I am surprised that this needs to be explained (again). I thought that most people understood that of the 43,000 plus people killed so far, most are innocent civilians rather than combatants. This of course excludes people who think that all Palestinians/Muslims are guilty by association and therefore expendable.
  3. This has puzzled me for a while. We used to have appraisal meetings with staff where we discussed perceived strengths and weakness and what could be done to improve any areas of underperformance. You would expect the senior management to sit down with him and talk about performance and what needs to be done to change things. If that has happened and they have all agreed more of the same is the way to go… 😵‍💫
  4. Not that anyone is worried about the future eh? https://www.abc.net.au/religion/trump-reelection-represent-existential-threat-to-democracy/104577966
  5. He previously put his own people into senior positions in the judiciary and now he is looking to replace senior ranks in the military with his own people. The Republicans have control of everything. He is already ensuring that he will be above the law. This is the definition of a dictatorship. It is an autocratic form of government which is characterised by a leader or group of leaders who hold governmental powers with few or no limitations. I know that you have a thing about dictatorial leaders, hence your love in with Thatcher. Your concrete support for Farage, the UK Trump brown noser in chief is also a give away.
  6. If she had any sense she would get some proper professional advice on how to approach PMQs. Sadly for her she is far too arrogant and thinks that she knows best. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/amp/entry/tory-gloom-as-gaffe-prone-kemi-badenoch-endures-another-miserable-pmqs_uk_6734bd2ae4b0958bad3dc4e5/
  7. He seems to share the same view about “democracy” as Putin does. And yes, Russia is a “democracy” too. Any “woke” Generals won’t be in post for long. https://inews.co.uk/news/world/trump-pick-us-defence-secretary-pete-hegseth-war-woke-3378077

Further claims about ethic cleansing in Gaza for those who think it is funny. Apparently it will cost $40/$50 billion to rebuild the areas the IDF have destroyed so far. https://www.france24.com/en/middle-east/20241114-israel-committing-ethnic-cleansing-amid-mass-forced-displacements-gaza-hrw-report-says
  9. Yes. What has that got to do with an elected head of state doing exactly just what he wants to do now that he is in power? We have already seen what Trump thinks of democracy when he was beaten by Biden previously.
  10. Funny? Where are all of the checks and balances? Unless his own party grow a collective pair, which looks unlikely given where we are today, who is going to stop Trump going full Trump?
  11. Like every one else on this forum, I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, but isn’t it possible that SR have a wish list of replacement managers that they have worked through and drawn a blank so far? Having messed up with Jones I expect that are very wary about bringing in a poorer option. It would make sense to stick with Martin until they have found a better replacement. As it stands, baring a spectacular influx of quality players in the January window, which we know is not going to happen, we are down. Finding a quality coach who will be prepared to play out this season and then able to bring us straight back up isn’t going to be an easy ask. I don’t envy those who are tasked with finding the next coach.
  12. If Trump wasn’t totally fireproof before, he soon will be. The fears are being realised. This is basically going to be a dictatorship for all intent and purposes.

  14. So you don’t disagree that you specifically only highlight sexual assaults from people of a certain ethnicity or religion? Two tier outrage? (when hypochondriac isn’t posting laughing emoji on threads about dead Muslims he is posting them on threads about sexually abused children. Classy)
  15. Indeed, but the thing here is choice. I doubt that everyone who is suffering will chose to end their lives early.
  16. You said he was smug and self satisfied. I was merely pointing out that he may well be entitled to be so given his successful careers in two very different fields. I have just seen two woman mentioned as possible replacements. That will ruffle a few feathers.
  17. Were they suffering intolerable pain and/or having a particularly poor quality of life?
  18. Indeed. Apparently there is a new guy in charge of Sport at the BBC and he wants to shake things up a bit. Perhaps he should stick to the if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it philosophy. Some things are like a comfy old jumper, MotD being one of them. It might be old fashioned and a bit frayed at the edges, but it is comforting to know that it is always there on a chill winter’s evening in a format that has barely changed in decades. Something you can rely on in an ever changing world.
  19. Another illuminating Kemi article. https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/nov/11/post-office-inquiry-kemikaze-kemi-badenoch
  20. Not sure quite what that has to do with his ability on a football pitch and as a TV presenter?
  21. Who knew which posters wouldn’t?
  22. Given your history of trawling the internet to find stories of Muslim sex offenders whist ignoring white, possibly Christian offenders, perhaps you would be kind enough to explain why some people take to the streets to demonstrate about the former whilst not bothering at all about the latter?
  23. If you want to throw the Pope in as well, fine. Sexual abuse has been going on in all Christian denominations for ever. I mentioned Welby specifically in this instance because he knew about Smyth and did nothing about it.
  24. I am deeply sorry to hear this mate. I can’t imagine what you both went through. There is an argument that palliative care should be improved, but shouldn’t necessarily mean that we don’t go forward with this bill. The whole point is personal choice about how and when we go in certain circumstances. I am glad that you were able to share that time together. I would not want to deny anybody the end of life that works for them.
  25. Maybe to someone who is absolutely opposed to the bill and the premise that terminally ill people who want to die with dignity shouldn’t be allowed to make that decision for themselves.
