Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
sadoldgit replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
I wish I had an answer. I would be a very rich man. But to continually use violence to fight violence only lead to more senseless deaths. We need to find a way to live together otherwise this butchery will just go on and on and on. ISIS are not the only problem but they are clearly a big problem. They will not achieve their aim and at some point the penny will drop. At some point those who are willing to blow themselves up will see that their sacrifice, martyrdom or whatever you want to call it actually does not achieve anything. That clearly isn't going to happen any time soon but it isn't helping that we (The West) keep doing things that play into the terrorists hands and provide a ready supply of suicide bombers. -

Or Billy No Spuds Mates! Although that is not strictly true. My oldest mate is a Spud, be he lives in that well known den of Spuds supporters, Southend! -

Its ok, he is having his usual pop at me. Trouble is he hasn't got a solution other than killing all of the terrorists so I am not sure how that is going to work. -

I live in deepest darkest Kent. Never seen anyone wearing a Spuds shirt and don't know any Spuds supporters here. I know of one other Saints supporter, two plastic Mancs, a Notts Forest fan, two West Ham fans, two Arsenal fans and I have seen a few people in Arsenal shirts around. -

But they are still not a Republic. My understanding is that their aim was to kick the Brits out of NI and join the south with the north? -

That is why terrorism ultimately fails. The psychopaths or those who direct the psychopaths finally realise that killing people doesn't get them what they want. As you say, if they attacked the infrastructure it would cause far greater chaos. I worked in London during the IRA bombings and we continued to go to the pub and go to work as usual. It was a greater problem dealing with the 3 day week. Of course those who lost loved ones will have felt the pain, but the rest of us just rocked on and got on with it. -

Closing the borders will not prevent those intent on maiming and killing carrying out their attacks. -

There is a difference between making "knowingly ridiculous statements" (which is highly subjective by the way) and lying. I have explained where I have thought it necessary and I have not run away from any thread. There was a period when I had a couple of trolls on ignore, you being one, so it may well have been that I didn't read a number of requests to explain what I said. That is what happens it you have people on ignore. It is not running away. I have tried to explain hyperbole to your mate Hypo but he doesn't get it. Not my fault. You both seem to have an agenda, not just with me but with other posters. Instead of attacking other people all of the time, perhaps both of you should have a look at yourselves? Trolling on the internet is not a great way to spend your lives, no matter how important it might make you feel. -

What is a Toby? I think the point is that it was said that Morgan left the club without dignity but the evidence provided was from the previous season when he spat his dummy out. I don't recall him leaving on bad terms. Do you? -

Not to worry mate. I think most of the decent posters on here see CB Fry and Hypo for what they are. -
If you removed all of the sanctimonious posts admonishing others for what they do there wouldn't be much of a Board and Fry and his buddy Hypo would be out of business!
