We did tolerate them until they violated Poland, it is true. There is always a point at which you make a stand. For some it will be too soon, for others too late. As with the Middle East, at what point is it "right" to interfere with another sovereign state? We have the luxury of hindsight of course, but there we many who could see the evil of the Nazi Party as it was growing within its own boundaries and who left Germany for more tolerant societies. As for the buffer, yep, Churchill was not fan of Stalin's either but considered him the lesser of two evils - some choice eh?

I don't think it matters about your maths, what ever figure we put on it will be a guess. And that is only in our own dimension. As someone said the other day, the thought that we are the only life forms in the Universe is just as amazing as there being many others.

You are right, and there is a huge difference between our divison and the Premiership. They would be buying a player of potential who is far from the finished aricle and someone, who like Surman, might find the Premiership a step too far right now - he may never make it at that level.

I think you are probably right, but it is sad that the disaffected don't give their vote to something like the Green Party rather than a bunch of ignorant racists. A lot of disaffected Germans gave their vote to Hitler and probably lived to regret it.
-
Probably not but there is a huge difference between tolerance and not tolerating the behaviour of people of a certain belief. Should we have tolerated the Nazis for example? I don't think it is unreasonable to say that every human being ought to have the same rights on this planet. Just because you were born in a certain place doesn't give you a right to dictate what other people's rights are. Why should any one tolerate intolerance?

But when you consider our development over every other species on this plae, is it not likely that other life forms could have developed evn faster than us? We actually think we are an advanced life form but whne you consider that way most of us live, which is essentially killing off the very planet that gave us life, I would disagree. We also don't know very much compared to the ancients who achieved far more with far less. Scirntists wil tell you that we still do not understand many of the funamentals. I am ready a good book right now "13 Things That Don't Make Sense" by Michael Brooks. It makes you realsie how far we still have to go and how little we still really understand.

I agree, although as with many fans on here who have no patience, some players will not want to wait 4 to 5 seasons to play in the Premiership. This is no problem if you replace them with players of quality.
-
The old Board didn't have much choice when it came to selling. We needed the money. Now apparently we don't. Huge difference. Also if a player want to go you can't really keep him. Arsenal or Southampton, Tottenham or Southampton...do you realy think that Walcott and Bale struggled over their decisions? Although I hope we hang on to Lallana it wouldn't be the end of the world if he left. If the new owners are serious (and there is no reason to think they are not) about progress they will allow Pardew to find a decent replacement.

I hope you are wrong and that the BNP disappear off of the face of politics. What we need is greater tolerance, not less. Sadly some people still think that watered down Facism is a good idea.

If other life forms have managed to work out how to travel vast distances in relatively short times, they will see us a very promitive life form. In the same way that we put things that we think are beneath us (i.e. every other life form on the planet) under a microscope, wouldn't they do that to us too?

Outside of this forum finding a moaning fanny would not be such a bad thing

Letting Kevin Davies go was a huge mistake. Although his form dipped he was still a quality player and I will never understand why he wasn't even on the bench at Cardiff. Wasn't there something to do with alleged use of white powder?

Better coaching then?

Isn't he the same age as Messi?

I think there is a big difference John. Yes it happens elsewhere, but not with the zeal, glee and frequency with which the Americans seem to dish it out. There was genuine shock when de Menezes was killed but whenever news of another American episode leaks out no one is surprised. It has been going on right back to the conflict with the Native Americans. In one massacre (it may have been Wounded Knee) they actually surrounded the NAs and opened fire, killing many of their own in the crossfire!!! -
They knew he could throw it a long way but chose not to use it as a main weapon for some reason. I don't understand why Stoke get so much stick for it? A winger can cross a ball all day long and that is fine. Delap lobs them in from a throw and somehow it is not okay? Go figure.

I used to love Formula 1 (and Formula 5000) in the 60s and 70s but lost interest as it became sterile. I suppose we all have goldern ages when we first got into the sport, but I can't be arsed with the pit stops etc. Take it back to the good old days. You race on one set of tyres and one tank of fuel. Make the cars slimmer or the tracks wider. If it is going to be a race let people be able to overtake. Simples.

What is going to happen when we wear the white shirts next season? Can't get my head around common you whites!!!
-
Yes, I got the impression that they weren't too unhappy to see him go. I quite liked him as a player but a lot of people on the old Saintslist had it in for him, Delap too. Long thows aside, I don't think we made the best of Delap as you say. I heard how he used to walk past players for fun in training. I suppose the transfer fee didn't help. I like Oakley when he played higher up the pitch. He had an awesome strike on him. But managers have their own ideas and their own men. Looking back at Strachan's time here I think he made many mistakes (although he seems to be fireproof), not least Kevin Davies.

Good point!!!

To all those who think we can wait for next season for promotion

Weston, I am not the only one who is fed up with Alpine's constant negativity and doomladen threads and posts. You only have to read this thread to see that. Nice that you are sticking up for your buddy though. -

You don't need me to belittle you Alpine, you do that all by yourself. -

But we don't know that. Whoever replaced him might have scored or made goals for others. -
Didn't stop him getting stick on here though. Isn't he a bench warmer at Forest?
