  1. Alpine Rupert Lowe Michael Wilde George Burley Short on laughs but it would be priceless to let Alpine loose on those three.
  2. Great news. We do need something different up front and Saga can be a quality player for us again. I'd still like to see another forward come in though as much as that is unlikely.
  3. Doesn't exactly fit with his claim that he is up for a new challenge though does it? And the article says that he has found himself at left back this season??? Hmmm
  4. If Simon Jordan was at this club you lot would be at his throat as much as Lowes!!!
  5. I agree with CB Fry. But of course the main point is that if the others had not made such a pig's ear of things after he left he would not be back now, would he!
  6. So then, no mention of the fact that he pulled the plug on a move to Ipswich because they wouldn't match his wage demands???
  7. Haven't seen the incident yet but having been sent off a few times myself...if he challenged for the ball with his studs showing he was asking for a red, you just can't do that anymore.
  8. Yes I do really care Ottery, and I can see no viable alternatibe to Lowe right at this minute. That is not to say that I don't also pray for some benign mega rich sugar Daddy to come and save us. Take Lowe out of the equasion for a moment. What is required in the current circumstances given that no one has the cash to bail us out? Someone who can take tough unpopular decisions? Someone who can work in a tight financial situation? Wilde, Crouch, Hone, Hoos etc tried and failed and we are in a bigger mess now. If Lowe is not here to make tough cals then someone else would have to wouldn't they? If Lowe has sold a three year plan to the backers and bought the club some time, then fair play to him. If a creditable alternative pitches up and finds some more cash to play with, great. Personally I don't think that alternative is Crouch or Merrington or McMemency etc, so who does that leave?
  9. Ottery, I think we are all saddended about what has been happening here for a number of years. Some people think it is all down to one man, others think it is down to a number of reasons. As we saw when Lowe left for a while, managing the expectations of the fans of a club like SFC is not easy and the new bunch did not fare well either. I totally agree with FCs post. I think we are where we are because of money (or lack of it). If agree with Lowe at all it comes down to living within our means, or trying to. I don't see the point in coming on here every day and giving him or JP a kicking. They are both doing their best (I believe) in difficult circumstances, what else can you ask? Ok, so there were/are other options. Whose to say they would pan out any better. None of us (no Um Pahars, not even you) are privvy to what goes on with the bankers or in Board meetings - and those that think they know are usually fed spin from others with their own agendas. Negativity is pulling this club apart (and who is to say it didn't play a part in Cork's decsions to leave?). Constructive critisism is fine, but who ofetn do you see that here? Usually it is the same old Lowe out, we are all doomed because of him stuff. Rate him or not, JP is our manager right now and needs all the support he can get, as does the club. We need to find a way to look past the blame game and witch hunting mindset and get behind SFC. We also need to see that jsut because someone doesn't not pin every single mistake down to Lowe that they are not his supporters of him in disguise. Of all the posters here I can think of only two who overtly support Lowe outright.
  10. Which I suppose means that you think that I am Rupert Lowe? Every time Lowe opens his mouth people want him to shut up. Fans like to hear from their managers don;t they. Hardly the managers fault if they can't conjure up a Churchillian speach at the drop of a hat. Please tell me how many managers that you think are worth listening to on a regular basis? While you are at it, what issues do you have with FCs post (do you think that he is Rupert Lowe too?) Oh and here's another thought...if I am Rupert Lowe, are you Lawrie McMenemy? Finally, why is it that anyway who tries to find some balance is seen as being a RL plant?
  11. I have voted for MC as a right sided striker but Big Ron would get my vote for our best out and out centre forward.
  12. How so? Do I come on here and slag off people at the club every day? Do I come and post negative comments about the club every day?
  13. Yes he did make mistakes, but so did the other players. Only he and Wright were singled out for special attention on here as I rember.
  14. It happens in every business. I have left meetings and told my staff that A is happening only to find out a few days later that things have changed and B is happening. Jan can either say I don't know what is happening and make himself look like he desn't know what is going on, or he can say what is happening right now in answer to a question and be made to look like he doesn't know what is going on in hindsight if things change. To be fair, doesn't this happen at every club? Phone calls are made all of the time, decisions changed all of the time, spin spun all of the time. It doesn't just happen here.
  15. Apparently mnay people at the club read this site, including Mr Wilde on occasions, so I was say yes is the answer.
  16. Good to see you posting again FC. This place needs more common sense posting and less of the knee jerk reactionary stuff the the Usual Suspects trot out every day.
  17. Would a player of Keegan's ability sign for a club like SFC nowdays even with LM at the helm? No. We simply could not afford the wages. (ps, Keegan's signing also had a lot to do with the fact that his best mate Channon did a lot to sell the club to him).
  18. Maybe to squash all of the cyber gossip that several players had already been lined up to leave? If you believed what you read on here both Lallana and Surman were off in January and that is why they were not playing against United (apart from the fact that Surman did play and Lallana is injured).
  19. It is not rocket science is it? At the moment it is enitely possible that no one is leaving. All it needs is someone to pick up a phone and make an offer and it could all change. Isn't that the way it should be? If someone comes in with a deal that makes things better for us in some way or another, why not do the deal just because it has been said earlier that no one is leaving?
  20. Considering the fearful stick the poor bloke got in his first couple of seasons it is good to see him get some credit now. Burley also came in from some heavy flak for signing him in the first place (eh Alpine, changed your tune I see).
  21. And this from the man who would have a party if the Chairman died??? Perhaps you should reread your own words Stanley - when all said and done this is only a game.
  22. Yep, with your nephew waiting in the wings Steve why not? Why exactly should he stand down though? Because you don't rate him? It is his job until either the club or he decides otherwise, not some jumped up cyber jockey. As for platitudes, as I am sure you know football managers are not the most gifted in the speach department and JP has to deliver his in a foreign language. Perhaps you would like to come on here and talk eloquently in Dutch?
  23. There is another option which you don't seem to have considered Stanley, that he is telling the truth?
  24. Damn, I must have missed that Steve. Shame, I am sure there were plenty of rolly eyed thingies there too.
  25. Unlike you matey I am not one of anyones boys and manage to follow my football club without having an agenda, something you seem unable to do. "Blindly leads us down a blind alley"?? And I am talking tripe???
