  1. Freedom of movement came in under the Maastricht treaty I believe which was ratified by our government had it not been then we would have had no freedom of movement, fishing quotas were all covered by the common fisheries policy which again we signed up to (Why do people get so bent out of shape over such a tiny UK industry?) the Brexit messiah Nige was a part of the EU committee that ran it all but unsurprisingly the work shy grifter never attended... I could go on and on! If your list of feels is the reason you knowingly chose to do the damage that has been done to our economy then I would say maybe you should have thought about it a bit more first and done some actual research this is all assuming you are not just in denial that A)you were sucked in by the bus or B) you liked nigels Nazi inspired poster (Not saying wither of those things are true but it is funny how many people try ridiculous leaps of logic to justify Brexit support when actually it was those two things that did it)
  2. Do you have some examples of this vague load of 'feels'? The UK government was always sovereign and was always responsible for every decision it took we had a veto on EU legislation, if this vague mush is the reason people decided to knowingly damage our economy to the extent they have then I would seriously question the cost v's benefit equation but at least they would be willing to admit that A) Brexit has had a significant negative impact on the countries economy and B) that they deliberately chose this damage believing it was the right thing to do. I have a lot more time for that position than I do those that are still denying the massive financial harm that Brexit has done to our economy, I'd still disagree with you though!
  3. Then you would need to explain what those other factors were and what if any benefits they delivered to the country, essentially were these 'other factors' something other than 'feels' or not liking foreigners? You get double bonus points if you don't say Sovereignty (even the Tory government had to eventually admit that the UK Parliament was always Sovereign throughout our EU membership) and if when you say something about EU laws you can list the top three that were of such concern to you it was in your mind worth the financial damage you knew you were choosing.
  4. I didn't say they all were, but all the statistics support that those with lower levels of education and intelligence were much more likely to support Brexit than those that were more intelligent and more educated. These are simple verifiable facts, you might not like them but it is reality We haven't saved £19 billion a year, did you fall for the 350m a week bus slogan? You can't say that money that was invested for a return is a saving when you lose the return on the investment you have made a loss. The German government estimates that membership of the single market is worth 132 billion euro's a year, it's difficult to find these figures (as you knew) nobody does the research as France and Germany are unlikely to leave the EU anytime soon so there is no interest in it. There is reams of research around the negative impact to the UK economy of Brexit though because it is interesting and relevant, you could use that as a basis for estimating the impact the EU has on France and Germany but you won't do that because you are arguing disingenuously. I could ask you to list out the benefits of Brexit and evidence to support them but I know you won't because even the last governments own minister for Brexit benefits couldn't find any!
  5. Who is the proven 10-15 goal a year premier league striker we should sign though? I don’t see them available at a price we can afford and any player we can afford from abroad is going to be as much of a risk as BBD or Archer.
  6. Archer and Armstrong have both shown they are top quality Championship players so there is no reason to suspect they can’t step up and get 7/8 goals in the premier league. Archer did well when you look at his XG for last year and BBD’s stats say if he played the whole season he would have been into double figures playing for one of the worst teams in the leagues history. Let’s try and be optimistic, I’m not seeing a lot of proven premier league goal scorers going for a price we can afford!
  7. BBD’s stats from last year suggest he would have been around that number if he had played the whole season and that was for one of the worst sides the league has ever seen.
  8. Creating chances is the key, doesn’t matter who we have up top if we don’t create opportunities. Diaz, Archer and Armstrong have all shown they can score goals given the chances.
  9. If he’s out on license he’s lucky he only got 20 months and not the remaining 10 years. I’ve no time for any of these thugs and it is hardly surprising to see that a large number of those arrested seem to have rap sheets longer than the combined works of Shakespeare and often are only just out from the last stint inside! Obviously they are all just innocent protestors standing up for those little girls though…. Oh and is anyone even slightly surprised that Tommy is losing and manipulating the truth to pro long his graft? The man is a serial criminal who has been taking money from the terminally stupid for years and is unlikely to ever change!
  10. He seems to think that his one set of figures in isolation is some sort of gotcha for all the arguments around the economic harm done to the country by Brexit, exhibiting exactly the lower levels of intelligence and reasoning that typify the Brexit supporter (Not saying GM is a thicko but typically Brexit supporters are as supported by the statistics)
  11. Underpinned by things done by the treasury and the Bank of England in response to the Brexit vote. Like the government abandoning its plan to reduce the deficit during that period and the Bank of England reducing interest rates and hinting strongly at further interest rate cuts. You are looking at one statistic in isolation and sadly the world isn’t that simple. If you are trying to claim that Brexit hasn’t had a negative impact on the UK economy you are going against basically every respected economist and institute. If you want to say Brexit is a success because of ‘sovereignty’ or what ever other ‘feels’ then I can just laugh at you but you can’t go against every expert in the field and expect to be taken seriously!
  12. Would be a good move for him, he needs game time!
  13. lol they were exaggerated like everything in a political debate the exaggeration wasn’t quite on a par with the 300million to the NHS printed down the side of it or the Nazi inspired propaganda poster of migrants but then like most Brexit supporters you seem to have a very limited memory for the events of that time period when even the messiah like Nigel said that leaving the single market was a bad idea. The vast majority of economists including the governments own office for budget responsibility have shown lasting negative economic impacts of Brexit when what you were sold was growth and opportunity the leave campaign painted Brexit as the sunny uplands where we would all get a golden unicorn but instead you traded our economic prosperity for ‘sovereignty’ and ‘control’ it is laughable that this far down the line you still can’t see the damage done. Oh and I fully respect democracy which in a free country like the UK includes the right to criticise the sections of the government and even heaven forbid campaign to change or reverse them, after all it was ok for Nige and the ERG to blame the EU for all our woes for 20-30 years so surely those in favour of EU membership should be afforded the same platform?
  14. The key stat from last year would be chance conversion rate as Sheffield united created almost nothing all season and he seems to have done alright on the xg measure.
  15. Those predictions, over dramatic and exaggerated as they were, were all pre-faced with an ‘if the government does nothing’ which is the exact opposite of what happened following the leave vote. Actions were taken by the government and Bank of England rapidly to stave off the inevitable negative outcomes. So actually the vast majority of ‘project fear’ as you label it did come true, Brexit has been a disaster for the UK economy and will only get worse with time.
  16. Seems bonkers money to me which is unusual for Brighton they have a habit of making good transfer decisions recently and this one looks odd to me!
  17. 15-20m also makes a big difference on what we can spend this year in terms of the fair play regs letting him go for nothing next year see's us not only loose out on the fee but on the financial breathing room to bring someone else in.
  18. Shin pads are compulsory for all players, are you sure he wasn’t following the ridiculous current trend of using ones that are too small for a five year old? Much like the cutting of holes in socks they need to be banned!
  19. Would have been nice to get something out of it, but put in a decent performance didn’t get massively thrashed and hopefully it will be the trigger for fixing the goalkeeper situation! Plenty to be optimistic about for the rest of the season with the window still open.
  20. Both have problems but an uncontrolled shrinking population with our current population demographic would be significantly more problematic than our current slowly growing one. Houses and other facilities can be built a workforce to care for and financially support our population cannot be, robots and AI aren’t that good. Not to mention our entire financial system is built on growth. Long term global populations are due to decline which will take careful planning and management of the transition and amusingly potentially western countries ‘fighting’ over migrants. I do find your posting style amusing, nit pick one line from long posts and ignore the posts that correct your errors, classic and predictable.
  21. The uk population has grown by 0.6% per year on average over the last 10 years which isn’t beyond the ability of a functioning government to plan for. Migration has kept the age demographic of the UK roughly stable despite the boomer generation entering retirement and a birth rate below replacement levels. Take migration out of the equation and the UK population likely goes into decline and with an ageing population that is an economic and social nightmare.
  22. Of course it does, foreign students play a huge part in keeping our universities afloat effectively subsidising the education of the native population. If you remove the foreign students you either increase fees substantially of increase higher education funding from general taxation a modern economy requires a high quality higher education system which needs to be paid for.
  23. The vast majority of migrants arrive on visas, those on students visas don’t get benefits and fund the UK’s higher education system. Those on work visas on the Brexit sun lite uplands points scheme arrive to work and start contributing from day one. So are we back to the tiny numbers arriving by boats? That should be processed quickly and fairly so they are either deported or integrated into society so they can start paying into the system.
  24. They are ‘safe’ the minute they leave the place where they are not safe, I fail to see your point? The international treaties we are signatories of say they can choose to pass through to another country before applying for asylum, this avoids neighbouring countries being over run during wars etc. even though most refugees do stop in neighbouring countries hence the vast number of Syrians in Turkey for example.
  25. That is a controlled decision by your government, small boat arrivals is less than 30k a year of which 30/40% should be deported after processing asylum applications. If you want to reduce legal migration ie the vast majority who arrive on visas as students or points based essential workers then you need to choose bettweeen the three options I’be explained and all the anti immigration people ignore! 1 stop reporting student arrivals as part of the net migration figures as most leave eventually so it just skews the number unnecessarily 2 reduce student visas this would then require either a significant increase in fee’s charged to domestic students or funding of higher education from general taxation (neither of which will be popular) 3 reduce the number of people arriving on essential worker visas and accept shortages in critical Industries and health care etc. Which do you want?
