But NC obviously thinks he has made the right decision and will attract more fans. He knows that there are many of these fans who are screaming we're not there in the bad days, within a few weeks they will forget NA (not literally)if we are sailing high

MLT has the honour of a suite named after him, many of our other heroes have not. MLT has a big problem with NC and visa versa , I dearly wished for them to make up,sadly I now can never see it happen. Matt was a footballing hero, but he so nearly killed the club by siding with a badly chosen takeover attempt. Keep to footy Matt, it is only so long you can live on your past glories as,as time goes by you will get the same disrespect from younger fans that Terry Paine has had on here from a poster.

Customers can always take a walk

As NC is so bad would you let a member of your family now join the club if the opportunity arose?
-
Why the minute after kickoff, is it because they won't get the tv coverage they yearn for
-
well a big fat bonus for one.

I didn't know NC thought that fans have no impact. I have always believed fans mindset has a massive effect on the team.some think not,but any club who has the fans on your back is negative to the team and I'm sure Moyes is delighted to whip the frenzy up,Sky will love it as well.
-
I think NC does, the value of the club in the PL to one in the CCC. We may get parachute payments but the club is again a very expensive machine to run. You could also say goodbye to Shaw and Co. it will be a disaster.

And who will gain? EVERTON. A fan of theirs I know is going and he loves the fact that the instability of the fans is going to help his team. In fact he said he was going to start NA songs to help. It ok being Joan of Arcs but at the end of the season when the Sky cameras are showing our fans crying due to relegation by 1 point you can all get your white hankies out and sing NA name, whilst forgetting that the fans actions cost the club. Surely you can see how the unrest in the past helped our relegation, are we like NA and not learn from our mistakes.

to be fair if you read the welcome thread there are many who are out to abuse the new manager. There are many with solid bone from the neck up who think showing their undying love to NA will somehow show the world how wonderful we are. When AP left we had a load of Madame then as well, had NC not got rid of him where would we be now? Nobody can say of course, only time will tell if NC is right but he is the one who has a massive amount to lose financially.

It is good to see FF who a lot of fans respect, showing common sense on this.I'm not looking for fans reactions as that is just emotions, it is how the players show on the day.
-
behave, we are not a laughing stock we just have made a decision that most dont understand. The laughing stock comes if you keep someone on who is nice but is unlikely to achieve your goals. Steve Wigley , Gray ,Portliet were nice people but they had to go.

fantastic post that i can relate to
-
All very laudable but if NC did nothing and NA got us relegated we would be saying why did he do nothing? NA is a good man, not that i could gain much from his interviews as he never really said much different each time.
-
iam told there was a player revolt at Pompey Mack, there was hell of a do. It has settled down now and they are sitting outside the headmasters office waiting to be seen
-
you are probably right. I think we should get the Solent interview up that NC did at the time of AP?. In it he laid bare his plans and in it he stated how he was going to make a structure at the club that made sure if a manager went the club in general was not in upheaval. He did not wish to get to the stage where managers upped and left leaving the club to start agian. i suspect there were other things in that interview that may be revealing now about his longterm vision.
-
Huffton you really have lost the plot. Sadly the search only goes back 13pages on here. i would have liked to have seen some of the threads about NA when we were bottom of the league. i suspect there were many who are now up in arms that would be wishing for NA to be sacked then. I hope the new man is very successful and in 10years or so we are sitting in a 50k stadium being the only team in the south of England playing in the European super league. If we dont keep up we will be left behind. Cortese has a ruthless drive that i hope will bring us unbelievable success. If he fails you can go proudly to our sparsely filled ground with your rattle, swing your scarf around your head, and talk about what a gentile football club we are, whilst we take on Hereford etc.
-
but NC wants to achieve more than Everton. I think Moyes is a great manager but what has he done? I think 1 CL qualification and losing a cup semi final. it could be more but i dont follow them, in fact i have disliked them since 1984

Manji I fully agree but VFTT is not a fool, although at times he disagrees with me and so that knocks him down a peg lol. Many saints fans are decent people and don't wish to see a decent man lose his job. Whether he was really up to it is another thing, but we do seem to worry what other fans think of us. It seems that being graceful losers is more important than being successful at the top. i doubt many Man U fans lose any sleep over being unpopular with other clubs

Bearsy you keep me sane with your insanities, lol

Whitey i hope you are well. Is the timing better now or after another 4or5games? The timing of the 2-2 with Chelsea was terrible for NC, can you imagine fans feelings towards NA if we had lost on Wednesday? Playing his wonder plan against Chelsea had us 2 down at half-time, it was only forced upon him to bringing RL onthat helped unsettle the Chelsea defence and in turn give us a focus to build from. Iam glad NA can walk away from here with his head held high, a wealthy man and with many jobs open to him. NA is a winner in all of this, we are the ones who are left holding our breath

it is all emperors new clothes. I have never felt the club to be that welcoming at anytime. Perhaps FF , the sponsors, and any one who provided a bit of free service, may have seen some of it as they were useful to the club. Every school holiday my brother and me would walk from Shirley to the Dell car park to wait for the players to come out from training to get autographs. Out would come one of the club officers and throw us out of the car park. Those were the days when kids and women were not welcome at football. The clubs then woke up to the fact of merchandising etc and all of a sudden they couldn't do enough for the later generations. Do not believe that any football club cherishes its fans as much as they make out, like Starbucks or any other big business, money is the main reason they are there. Saying that NC and ML set up the Saints foundation and that is the closest I have seen to a proper charitable scheme set up. Iam cynical i know but it does make me smile when I see fans worrying what other fans feel about us. At the end of the day we all have soft spots for certain teams but when we were hours from being wound up where were they? People say they hope we go down, most of them did already.

well the telegraph got the 2-3years ahead of schedule wrong, also adding that NA left in tears. I doubt that NA would have left in tears, surely his psychology would stop that
