  1. I have scars of watching Saints and still not feeling confident !!
  2. A big risk if he is auditioning for the job. Perhaps we are expecting no midfield from them and just long ball. I just hope we can get a decent result but Im disappointrd that Downes is not playing as he has a bit of steel
  3. What doesnt seem to have been picked up by fans is that all the teams below the 1st team play that way from the back. So I suspect any manager who comes in will be expected to play that way.
  4. of all the names quoted who would have been an ambitious appointment? I cant see any of those bringing the fans onside as most would have hardly got the fans buzzing
  5. It said 'with a football brain number 2' so with somebody with nous.Clough and Taylor type situation
  6. Im not surprised with Shaw not knowing, he would have known the colour of a Mars bar or Milky way wrapper I expect. Gerrard/Viera would be known by all players I would have thought, and for a short period may have the awe of the squad, that is why those may get something out of the them. Gerrard with a good football brain as a 2nd in command may well be good for a club like us, and you never know might get good Liverpool loans in. ( I dont believe Gerrard is a great manager but perhaps its what we need here and now. It certainly would get a short buzz IMO
  7. I get your point to a degree, but I doubt there has been a decision evermade at our football club, the intelligensia on here wouldnt pick holes in. You only have to read the match thread to understand what football brains we have. ( Oriol may be the only one ) Not sure what choice we as fans have, unless you can find a buyer out there, we have to ride the wave. Not many of us, if any, would risk their lifes work, house and savings on a football club. Whilst Dragan is very wealthy he is not as wealthy as he was by owning our club.
  8. I totally agree, it was madness

Are we surprised that he is finding it tough? I for one am not. To me it was pressures from advisors who may or may not have been acting in his best interests. It is such a shame if it doesnt work and there is no way he can come back as we are not going to shell out big money and wages to get him back
  10. Do you understand how fragile the players confidence was at that stage? I know watching that after they pulled one back and having Baz in goal no wonder they were edgy. Football is a confidence game and the players are fragile especially after last season. I wonder if towards the end of the season they might not be very keen to go up!!!
  11. Why appoint him yet.? They have the ideal situation. They can let him have a test drive and if the car runs smoothly they can then appoint or not appoint, that is the question
  12. Fundimentally whoever is the manager how are they going to turn 5ft 5in (?) Adam armstrong into a 6ft 3 bustling striker to duff up opposition defences. Until we can get a strong forward in we are in the mire.
  13. He does look very lightweight and a schoolboy
  14. I assume while the crowd was leaving the game
  15. It is amusing the fans baying for managers who have been sacked multiple times elsewhere for failing. Any manager we go for is a massive risk. Im just gratefult that there was no social media, with people with the loudest voices but perhaps not the most intelligent at our board when Lawrie was our manager. They were very strong against tremendous provocation to keep him, the rest is history
  16. Who do you feel will do a good job.In the summer when we were looking at appointments, were the managers in the frame now on the tip of your tongue? The gene pool is pretty poor and so it is hard to see who will inspire
  17. Of all the candidates, who is there that is going to galvanise the squad and also inspire the fans? Its a conumdrum. If a new man comes in and loses 2 of the first 3 we will be back to 'sack the bord' etc etc. The club played the'we're going to go back up ' card too much and so expectations have been too high. The only time we looked good was when Ross was linking play and we did look decent, once he got injured we have played with the handbrake on and it has focussed the folly of not getting a proper centre forward
  18. Oh come on, he and the club knew that the rumours and article was doing the rounds. Surely he/club could have nipped it in the bud immediately.
  19. Its hard to say who are the ones who really turned the camp against him, Jack says he didnt (although why did he wait until he was gone to say so). Some have really high opinions of their ability/standard and may feel they are above criticism. Armstrongs goal celebration irks me for some reason
  20. Will Still must be looking from afar and be thinking how the players (Armstrong in particular) cost him his job. Had they only scored a couple more goals with some golden opportunities, he would still be in his job. Simon Peach also said this morning he thought that we shouldnt have sacked him, and probably would have won the last 2 games.
  21. the word expected is the getout, wasnt he saying O'Neill was expected
  22. If this is response to Crooks tweet you may be premature, but if its a general feeling then I respect that. I dislike them but you have to be careful what you wish for Chansiri may want another club, or the Venkys
  23. Is this fact? I dont see why they would make it permanent when they canleave him as it is and see how it pans out. If it goes wrong we lose him from guiding the under 21's and also have to pay him off. Makes you feel that GON really was to be their choice, and shows how little they really know about the culture of our fanbase to even have him in the running, let alone how poor a manager he is
  24. But the club do not need to appoint him, they can leave him as he is in a suck it and see situation. The appointment is massive and listening to Simon Peach earlier today on Solent sport it seems the players didnt like WS blunt observations and perhaps we have a bit of a toxic squad (no real surprise as Juric got a similar response) As I have stated before there is a poor gene pool to choose from so whoever we go for it is hardly going to have a united club behind the decision
  25. We dont need to appoint Eckhart, we just leave him as he is until he either messes up or becomes the best thing since sliced bread. This gives the club a bit of time. I get that we cnt lose more games in the next 3 but whoever we appoint may not fire us up straight away.
