  1. is it 6 or 8 weeks in the summer ? then 6 weeks before another week or 2. There is no real need for this as my understanding is that the long vacations were for historic reasons eg when the kids helped with the harvest. Please dont come back saying about stress etc as most modern jobs have untold stress.
  2. If the club want the number of Wengers main man for this, who helped their squad become seril winners Ive got it
  3. I suspect we know the answer. Good luck if it is the case, but no reason not to really look intothe future awards
  4. Yes I do go off on tangents, but I have so much in my head going around and this all is linked to the general waste. Iam comfortable paying 2p more in tax, as long as soon as I start paying it I dont see doctors, teachers and other public workers getting bigger salaries. Im sure as soon as there is more money there, their Unions will think 'lets fill our boots' as the NHS and Education the MP's are frightened to bring it to the table, as it is a vote loser
  5. I feel he is the best MP that Labour has got
  6. Im sure, but I beieve many outside of being a teacher fret at them having untold weeks off and when they go back to work there always seems to be a teacher training day, normally on a monday for a long weekend. Training should be in the school holidays
  7. Of course, but the cost needs to be addressed. Billions extra is being poured into the NHS, has it improved? No, the budgets get biger and the need for really making it efficient is looked over. Even people in the NHS admit to the massive waste. I want the NHS to be good for us all but constant putting money in isnt the answer.
  8. Its a difficult subject, as soon as you say teacher or nurse people get all precious. As i say Im not so concerned bout those at the lower levels but the management structure where it seems to be very much over done
  9. Its not jealousy, it is common sense. Workers in the private sector are paying for lavish pensions and early retirement, Im not talking about pensios for the lower earners but the higher echelons
  10. I agree, for the first ime he actually got involved a tad. He won hearers at both ends of thee pitch and did try to be more forceful. I hope its a sign of better things
  11. A friend asked the council some years ago how much of his council tax was for historic pensions, it came back if I recall correctly, as around 40%.
  12. Apparently he likes to play from the back and so Russball II, hence Bazunu and his passing out. Personally Im not convinced, playing the last 20 minutes with backs to the wall is not good for my health. We were edgy with both Jay and THB giving nedless corners away.
  13. I feel you are being unfair. It was the first performance from Downs that showed a little promise. He won headers up top and in our box. He is not yet a top player but Armstrong was inneffective for most of the game apart from the one pass to Jay.
  14. The last 25 minutes I thought Simon Rusk had been parachuted in
  15. Well when the ref has his hand in the air counting it down from 5, thats a bit of a clue. No excuse for not knowing the rules, and the reason its not happening is that all the other keepers release the ball
  16. A terrible judgement error picking him. A real conundrum for the manager as he cant go ack to the less flappable Macca. I nearly smashed the TV up when he held onto the ball for more than 8 secs. I was shouting kick it !!! Let alone letting go of the weak shot my Chair than was simple. Yes he did save the header but the defence nervy enough let alone with him behind them. He also kicked into touch somethng gets pointed at Macca.
  17. Fair point,
  18. You only have to read the Match thread to work that out lol
  19. I thought it was you
  20. He has put himself into harms way . bravely on many occasions this season. No wonder he was offended
  21. yes but I cant see any manager sorting out the forward line. Still was so unlucky that we created numerous chances game on game and AA or Archer failed to take them. The chance that the BC forward had one on one, I doubt either of our would have put it in the corner like he did. How many points has the proflogate finishing cost us this season??
  22. I did wonder if it was one from here
  23. I thinkwe paid him out for the length of contract left and so itwouldnt matter if he had gone elsewhere
  24. I was thinking this morning how sad Iam to have this bloody football club so ingrained in me that I had trouble sleeping the last couple of nights, as I was fretting who was to be the next manager, or how we turn it around. 57 years of going / supporting this bunch of overpaid blokes kicking a bag of air around!! If only the club had been called McDonalds, or SOfa Direct Icould have left them years ago, but my civic pride and it being called Southampton has imprisoned me !!
  25. I saw that ,Chewton Glen apparently
