This site always seems to be anti Saints, seems to me that a Pompey fan runs it as always bigging up their support

Well RH would be a disaster, especially afterhearingex-players thoughts about him recently

    Finn Azaz

I cant recall many players who hit the floor running and being perfect in the erly days. Fans seem to expect aplayer to fit in straight away. You can see he has a good brain and presses plus good interplay. He will turn out to be a top player for us, just be patient
  4. Theirf midfield was mobile, I felt Jander should have been taken off after 70 mins and bring Flynn on to add a bit of bite. The ref was just ok, should have booked a couple of theirs earlier and that would have helped, as they fouled consistantly. Azaz was ok, and I felt Fellows was unlucky to be taken offas he still was causing them problems. Luck is against us, that goal was such a fluke, Wood so unlucky
  5. We will never know, but I wonder if he would have saved both those chances that Macca saved well
  6. Call me old fashioned but Ilike a keeper to keep the ball out of the net and dont care if he isnt great with his feet. Macca did a wonderful kick out that found Armstrg and we were on the break
  7. that is very fair. If we compete and win games I feel sure the attendances will stay decent for a few years. I suggest if we went back up the throng for S/Ts will not be the same as last time
  8. Exactly Championship players for championship teams. They are not worth a great deal.Iam sure had a chamionship come in for the majority of those we would have sold them.
  9. I respectfully suggest, we aint got no saleable assets at present!! If we did so they would already be gone
  10. We all want Saints to play in the PL, but to me going up with this squad I could only see nother humiliation next season. I suggest we would get less points than last!!. If we approached promotion like Sunderland who got basically a whole new 1st team, who were equipped for the rigours required then I would be more keen, but knowing SR it will be a load of potential players and not hardened players ready for the fight
  11. He said that to McBurnie who then relayed that in his post match interview
  12. Obviously we want to play in the prestige PL, but honestly do we want to go up with this squad? Until we start purchasing players that are equipped for the physical strenth , pace and power of the PL we will only get humiliated again. I couldnt see us getting 5 points with the standard players we have.
  13. Yes had we stayed up that first season we would be in clover, but the fools ruined everything. To make us established again we would need to spend 3-400m as the whole first team would need to be replaced.
  14. Im sure he put peoples backs up, ex players not getting complimentary tickets, etc etc but Marcus trusted hm and that is good enough for me
  15. Correct, but we as fans want to see football played to win, the board seem to have this plan of buy young who then go on to be sold at a big profit. It is unsustainable, but our club has the reputation of selling. The players we want, established and experienced do not fit in with SR dreams as those players are at their peak price wise and so they cat see a profit. Im all for buying young players who other clubs dont know of and may do well, but patently we need a tough spine. Fabianski was out there free, a tremendous keeper, who we have been on the back of wonderful performances (even last season) and other players with expereience and toughness for this league. Add to that get athletic, strong, runners who will outrun and outfight the players we are up against, instead of the constant lightweight fancy dans we seem to keep buying
  16. And they way LM started you would have called him a thick Geordie and marching up and down as a guardsman. Social media was unheard of then, the clubs board were strong and resisted untold pressure and kept him, the rest is history
  17. Sunderland did not have their hands tied withthe PSR we have had from the previous seasons spending. They have basically bought a whole new team of strong athletic, mobile and determined players. Their profile of player is nothing like the ones we chase, they are not looking to spin for a profit on player sales like the focus is on us with buying
  18. Frankly do you really wnat to go up with this squad? to me they wouldnt get 5 points next season.
  19. Probably the same bloke who put in the Echo that the Skates were staying in hotels in Southampton and were going to cause mayhem in the pubs during the game lol

do we ever learn, ever since Puel was deemed not to be good enough we have had more managers that I care to recall. I will remind you that Puel had us in a cup final and 7th or 8th. We would still be an established PL sidehad we not got rid at that time
  21. Im sure the Northam couldnt hear the Pompey fans either especially when they are singing. A hundred or so fans sitting next to the away fans isnt going to drown them out either. We all know that the ground can really rock but it does need the team to give the fans something to shout/cheer about. I suggst the players are kicking themselves about how poor they were and if the game was replayed their performance would be so different
  22. I saw that Murphy said it was like a home game lol. Are their players trained to come up with that guff, they werent even the loudest away fans this season. Stoke who only hlf filled the section were louder. Pre match the crowd was awesome as per the commentators, but they with the help of our sub par team manged to deflate the atmosphere. I suggest the same wont happen at FP as they will be beter preparedas they have already sampled the feel of the game. It came just a fewweeks too soon for us
