Thanks for posting that. I would be with my brother, and Tony Stacey (club steward now of many years) at the wall behind the goal of the Archers. I recall that day as we would rock u to the Dell at around 11 for to be one of the first in the ground so we could get tothe front, my feet that day were burning with pain due to the cold.

Nuno doing his best to raise Wolves confidence for when he takes over there after being sacked by WHU

Could be lol. Shame he left apart from his golf stories . Although he did mix with some of the top players, not that I was interested as it was golf
-

Are they equipped for the stye of football they are up against? We have players who have been solely recruited for the chance of profit not for building a team. The teams that are doing well are compact, streetwise , and not 'stars' just good old fashioned grafters.
-
Am I right in saying that the whole youth system is built on playing that way as well? Seems the club is all aboutplayingfrom thebck, when it seems the new fashion is going long a bit more

How many clubs have good owners? We had Marcus who I believe would have taken us to great heights, but there are more Venkys than there are good ones.

I detest his goal celebration
-
When you have the ego of Ankerson I doubt wild horses would be able to keep him out of it. I had a feeling from day 1 that these were not what they seem, and we are their little plaything, oh for Nicola Cortese

All valid points, but again with Blackburn there is a common theme AA missed golden opportunities that cost us dear
-
A bit arrogant, Oxford had grit, determination and some decent skill. Yes they dont have our resources but they had heart and fight, like Norwich. I feel the players believe the hype that they are good and go out with the mindset of just turning up and they will win. Leo has the will that the rest of the team need instilledin them
-
Fair point Duncan but I like yourself have seen mny awful games and this IMO is not one of them.
-
Half the squad have the scars of last season hanging over them, many know that if we go up they will be binned. What is the incentive to go up?( financial perhaps) As a fan Im not sure I want to go up with this squad as I cant see us getting any more points than Wolves. It will be another season of dispair as the squad is worse than it was last season
-
Rose tinted spectacles Im afraid. Leo, Fellows, and Azaz at times are quality. Jander is a future player, Charles also decent but we are in denial if we believe our squad is that good.We dont have a stand out defender, and whilst Flynn has upped his game our midfield just gets overrun by journeymen midfields. As for Baz !!! AA is ok at times but not quite clinical enough to make a difference.

Your memory is failing Duncan, Everton away (8-0), Leeds away (7-0) and many others were worse than that, the FA cup semi finals against Leicester and Chelsea also spring to mind.

RM got lucky when Bazgotinjuredand Macca came in. All of a sudden we looked sounder in defence and had a keeper who took the pressure off the defence by claiming the ball. I accept Macca is not good with his feet but neither was Shilton, they were there to keep the ball out of the net not to play a pass along the goal line to a defender. It hasnt taken long for teams to realise that dont need to press when the ball is ith the keeper but just wait for us toplay out and then mop up the long ball to AA. Once they have the ball proceed to about 20-25yards out and shoot , job done

In 84 if my memory serves me correctly the kiosk/trailer in our end was tipped over. Poor sods inside!!!
-
Fair point but he does let in more goals than he should.
-
Jack does do this but he has flaws. He is brave and Wood seems to have lost his way a bit, doesnt seem quite so determined as he was. We still allow the opposition to attack and get crosses in. To be fair I dont think WBA are as poor as people say, and apparently theyare a very energetic side and play till the end. Grant was decent all game and caused problems
-
For the crowd to be lifted you need effort from the team. At 3-0 I still dont relax and the start of the 2nd halfwe just surrendered space and let them onto us. This caused anxiety due to past scars. You just knew that we were going to let them back into the game and we needed somebody to take the game bythe scruff of the neck. Tonda was trying to rally the fans towards the end and I feel the Northam were brilliant roaring us on at the end. In essence we need the players to show energy for the fans to lift, but we just went into our shells.

People knock Macca for his passing but last night Bazza found row Z a few times

Yep a great day, but now I dont want to see my grand daughter and famillies with their kids being terrified by that lot. I suggest that people dont take their young with them, its sad but a fact. The hatred is something you dont want young kids to face. The adrenaline of those days are quite something and 84 was one of thebest feelings ever, a privilage to have been there
