Not sure its down to coaching or coaches, IMo its down to the recruitment department. The best £5m we could spend is find who is sourcing the players at Bournemouth and pay them big wages to do their stuff here. It seems to me that for the last 10years they have hit the nail on the head and bought well. There may have been the odd dud but in the main they have bought well. Or we have seen them and choose others, I saw that a few years ago we were considering Semenyo when at BC, id hate to think who we chose instead!!

I knew nothing of Downs until he turned up. I saw his finish in the friendly and thought wow we have unearthered a gem, especially as Poch seemed to rate him, sadly he may be one of those gems that the Nigerian scammers try and sell on the internet to mug punters. I wonder if they have spors number 😀 I am not giving up on him as I truly hope he can put 2 fingers up at the fanbase, something that McCarthy could rightly donow as he has proved a lot of fans wrong.

He's a leftie and so I expect Gary Neville will betrying to get him a job as a pundit lol

I dont know how many sit through and watch the whole of a PL game, but I for one get bored and either channel flick or look a social media. Football is quite dull with the constant side ways passing etc, I do like Bournemouths approach though, exciting stuff (I did not see the first half last night) I find footballers who in the main are just jobbing footballers driving Bentleys and on massive money is a turn off as well. The cream deserve top money as they are a pull for viewers.

When WS did those changes at half time I thought he had signed his sacking. It turned out to be correct. Im so pleased that Ross got his rewards and he has shown everytime he has played a desire that we need, whilst also holding the ball up. Hopefully this is the start. Quarsie I also like as he looks to be a winner but was nervous after his terrible mistake for the goal. Macca was fouled and so it was a free kick in todays football. Appalling penalty but I felt he would miss. Maccas save won us the points, cant imagine the meltdown if we had lost 2-0

14games W1 D2 Lost 11 0.36 points per game
-
Ryan Bertrand also came out about RH. Ings I believe was not too keen either
-
X is the most informed place out there of course
-
I see that there is a new porn site aimed exclusivily for the Skates, its called Only Fins
-
This site always seems to be anti Saints, seems to me that a Pompey fan runs it as always bigging up their support
-
Well RH would be a disaster, especially afterhearingex-players thoughts about him recently
-
I cant recall many players who hit the floor running and being perfect in the erly days. Fans seem to expect aplayer to fit in straight away. You can see he has a good brain and presses plus good interplay. He will turn out to be a top player for us, just be patient
-
Theirf midfield was mobile, I felt Jander should have been taken off after 70 mins and bring Flynn on to add a bit of bite. The ref was just ok, should have booked a couple of theirs earlier and that would have helped, as they fouled consistantly. Azaz was ok, and I felt Fellows was unlucky to be taken offas he still was causing them problems. Luck is against us, that goal was such a fluke, Wood so unlucky
-
We will never know, but I wonder if he would have saved both those chances that Macca saved well
-
Call me old fashioned but Ilike a keeper to keep the ball out of the net and dont care if he isnt great with his feet. Macca did a wonderful kick out that found Armstrg and we were on the break
-
that is very fair. If we compete and win games I feel sure the attendances will stay decent for a few years. I suggest if we went back up the throng for S/Ts will not be the same as last time
-
Exactly Championship players for championship teams. They are not worth a great deal.Iam sure had a chamionship come in for the majority of those we would have sold them.
-
I respectfully suggest, we aint got no saleable assets at present!! If we did so they would already be gone
-
We all want Saints to play in the PL, but to me going up with this squad I could only see nother humiliation next season. I suggest we would get less points than last!!. If we approached promotion like Sunderland who got basically a whole new 1st team, who were equipped for the rigours required then I would be more keen, but knowing SR it will be a load of potential players and not hardened players ready for the fight
-
He said that to McBurnie who then relayed that in his post match interview
-
Obviously we want to play in the prestige PL, but honestly do we want to go up with this squad? Until we start purchasing players that are equipped for the physical strenth , pace and power of the PL we will only get humiliated again. I couldnt see us getting 5 points with the standard players we have.
-
Yes had we stayed up that first season we would be in clover, but the fools ruined everything. To make us established again we would need to spend 3-400m as the whole first team would need to be replaced.
-
Im sure he put peoples backs up, ex players not getting complimentary tickets, etc etc but Marcus trusted hm and that is good enough for me
-
Correct, but we as fans want to see football played to win, the board seem to have this plan of buy young who then go on to be sold at a big profit. It is unsustainable, but our club has the reputation of selling. The players we want, established and experienced do not fit in with SR dreams as those players are at their peak price wise and so they cat see a profit. Im all for buying young players who other clubs dont know of and may do well, but patently we need a tough spine. Fabianski was out there free, a tremendous keeper, who we have been on the back of wonderful performances (even last season) and other players with expereience and toughness for this league. Add to that get athletic, strong, runners who will outrun and outfight the players we are up against, instead of the constant lightweight fancy dans we seem to keep buying
-
And they way LM started you would have called him a thick Geordie and marching up and down as a guardsman. Social media was unheard of then, the clubs board were strong and resisted untold pressure and kept him, the rest is history
