  1. Iagree their starting 11 is good and as a club have got away scot free from real penalties. They will finish higher than us if they add a few more players to that squad
  2. yep, the stats do look good, time will tell whether he is up to the higher league. I truly hope he is but I have major doubts.
  3. IMO the Championship is lot stronger than last season. The teams at the top will be pretty good compared to last.
  4. You may have confidence that last years squad will get us up, i don't. The difference in class of opposition will be immense. If ML was still alive i strongly believe we would have spent some more. I agree that you dont need to buy like Leicester but we are up against a lot of strong teams.
  5. i am not of the opinion that we are minted and can avoid selling. I believe that if the owners were really keen to go up again, the transfer kitty may have been really used. If we sell Ox and spend a few million of the fee then we have had a good deal. I have tired of having one man stars who take the focus away from team ethic
  6. True, we all by now know the routine. The press start mentioning Arsenal etc are interested the club say he is not for sale, the player then goes to the press and makes the clubs position untenable. Wenger and co know how to unsettle a player and then it alos effects the price.
  7. I think he is underpaid, i expected him to be on more. The amount of time he spends travelling and then having to put up with us mug punters.
  8. forget his Pompey connections, he plays to win and is wholehearted. Yes he gave us abuse but we sure gave him plenty beforehand.Man up
  9. AL does not have pace but his footwork and skill do help overcome that liability. LB does not have either and time and again last season the defences could push up and squeeze us as, as they knew he wouldnt out run them. We are stepping up a level and the defenders are a tad quicker and more accomplished. IMO I see us lacking the goals to make real progress.
  10. well those stats look good, a goal every other appearance for us. Nothing like massaging the figures to make the stats look good. You should be a politician but not a mathematician.
  11. the little I have seen of him has impressed me.
  12. I think I'm watching a completely different player to others on here. Effort is often confused with ability.
  13. How many league games was that in? I dont get the LB love in, but that is football.
  14. Really, i can't recall that.
  15. time will tell. I dont think he has the pace
  16. I am one of the few who think he is not good enough. I dearly hope to be proved wrong. he was hardly prolific in L1 how he'll cope due to his lack of space in the Championship will be interesting
  17. he was the one looked at the cash for peerages. Another cover up IMO
  18. NI said yesterday on the lines that, no-one should be exempt from investigation. Seems to me they are sending out a warning to many at the top that if they go down the lot will. They will cover it up as too many in high places are vulnerable.
  19. not that i know of

Wonder whether the starting XI will be more akin to NA's first choice line up or whether it'll be a complete mix up & a different team each half, as against Biel-Bienne? Also wonder Jack Cork is up to speed yet or whether he's still playing catch up after the extra time off after the U21 tournament. This is what ****s me off, the amount of times we start the first game of the season and a manager will admit I'm not sure what my best team is yet. Get the players upto match fitness quickly and start to gel as a team please. Thank you. Quick reply to this message Reply Reply With Quote Reply With Quote Multi-Quote This Message Blog this Post 4. Yep he says on one of the saints player interviews that he intends to have 2 different XI's again and looking to experiment with different players and systems. 21. well 66% are having problems 33% not. There is a problem Houston
  22. The last 2 days i have found the site slow with pages slow load time, and also the lounge and muppet show not getting the page displayed correctly. Anyone else finding the same?
  23. Corp is back again, Pompey must have won a pre-season game.
  24. People dismissing a player like Antonio need to look back at history. Certain players fit in at certain clubs but not at others. MA did very well for us and under the right guidance could be a decent player. just because he can't get into Readings side doesn't mean he would not do well for us. i personally would be happy for him to join us.
  25. Family, my business committments mean I miss quite a few games anyway and so I will pay by game. If a letter had been lying on our dresser i may have been tempted as i was reminded each time i looked, and so perhaps. I can see the club must save 10k plus by just sending e-mails
