I wonder f the the worlds money men are slowly sniping each and every country. There must be big bucks to be made, the sad thing is if they push a little bit too far they lose everything as well as us

Politicians determined to keep the European dream on track, who have no idea about monetary issues will always mess up. It has a remarkable resemblance to Pompey being kept alive by the PL to keep the brands name. Brussels cannot sanction Greece going, as it would harm their image (although the rest of the world know the situation). In a realistic situation, run by economists not politicians Greece would never have been allowed in until it had sorted out its tax and pensions system. (im told that Greece only has a few citizens registered as millionaires!!!!) a society that like Italy that avoids tax to a mammoth degree. We are at the precipice and the developed world could fall into a black hole. it is a scary situation and could mean the end of a modern consumer society, and years of strife, even war.

good to have a the opposition leader doing so, if ever she was elected by your lot.If you are happy to have someone with those principles as the leader then Pompey is the club for you. BTW I think May should have gone, not that i know all the facts but it does look a mess, but the media do have a habit of showing it that way.

is that the one who flouted the law about using her mobile phone while driving, and then didnt wait for the police but drove off, as she was patently too important?

wow you picked up on a spelling mistake.Top marks to you. Trying to compare our shame of going into admin and the reckless way you did, twice Lol although the first time was understandable as you had been down swimming with the fish around the sewer pipe for decades, and so had an unsustainable business model ooooh

Yes teams like like Forest and Villa did win the league in those days, they also went on to win the European cup, those days only the winners of the leagues entered not like now. it was a time also when the English clubs dominated. As for your post saying that you were not in debt when you won the cup, you are having a complete laugh, under MM and Gaydamek the papers published the fact that you were in massive debt (50-£100m) and you came on and argued differently. We pointed out at the time that you did not have the crowds to finance it but of course you came back saying it was Gaydameks money, lol. Your club spent more than it earnt the day it took HR and PS the first time. You only have to look at any other club MM has owned since and you can see he has little money to pump in, that bunch were the first to spend spend spend, you were the Wigan of the South in footballing terms and Greece in financial terms. You spend to ife to the full but dont have the guts to take the medicine and go down the default route.

Pompey have won more than us, period. The majority of Pompey fans jumped aboard and jumped off again when things got tough. They dont care how the cup was won, and i dont think if the boot was on the other foot it would be any different with us. Iam irked because they never took the medicine they deserved, and still have a team that on paper could beat us. Nobody will ever take the experiences they got by the actions of their club. History will show they won the cup and people will never know how they came to do it. we may as well hold up our hands and accept they have the most major honours and whilst much was before the war, it still is on the cup. We have a bright future and they can wallow in the past

If Rallyboy and Ho's info is correct then yet again british justice has yet again been shown for the nonsense it is. Hypothetically how about turning the Queens evidence and then making such a poor time of it in the box, contradicting your own evidence and so ruining any prosecution, and so torpedoing any case..Would it be possible to do so?

I was walking from Picadilly towards Knightsbridge and one of the street vendors ,was selling photos of the Churchill statue when it was vandalised with a slogan 'Churchills finest hour'. Sadly the erosion of history in schools and the trendy, 'The British were always wrong' teachings really is having an effect. Seething i walked on to see that at long last the heroes of Bomber Command are going to get their long overdue monument for their bravery and sacrifice. it is a national disgrace that it needs private money to get the monument built. I will always be eternally grateful for what these people in all the services did to let us have our modern form of freedom. Iam not a church goer, but I do visit on Remembrance Sundays

If Copout is to be appointed, it shows they are trying to go somewhere. How long was it before he chucked the job in, was it Man city?

IMO she was the greatest PM since Churchill. It is OK for the trendy lefties to throw their arms up.If you were there in the 70's where Britain was the laughing stock of the world, the trade unions had too much power and a few union leaders had the country by the short and curlies something had to give.Ok, it was pretty hard what was done, but it got the ground right for our economic rise and the standard of living to grow for the vast majority of people. We had to modernise and somebody needed to grasp the nettle. Maggie had the mettle to do so. I feel utter contempt for Blair and Brown and co who have pulled the wool over the poor working mans eyes and shafted them, in the name of the Laabour party, do not believe that they are not the reason we are in the state we are in now. Not Maggie Thatchers doing. I dont wish for them to die, and find it shameful that people are looking forward to Her death, pathetic

HOT PRESS Sven accepted offer to be Pompey manager, that was after he was told there were loads of Nancy's in Portsmouth

Spurs never has been a local derby and they would never see an intense rivalry with us, we would be well down their list of big games. We had a fall out during GH's reign but that is it. Thinking Spurs and us have an intense rivalry would be similar to us and Bristol or Ipswich.

you keep to your Ikea c### that will last for 1 yr or so and leave the better things that last for generations to others. These are real green items and everytime people people bang on about global warming remember about the throw away furniture of today and how that is effecting the world

It's a 19th c. comb-back Windsor chair. Circa 1800-30 The legs are a bit plain, you would normally expect them to be rig turned. Just gently wax it, as it looks fairly un-touched? The legs are similar to the type you get on cricket tables, rustic charm. As for the bow chest, send me a picture and I will give you a heads up, you know how to contact me. Nick

Lol and of course the last governement came out with flying colours. Power corrupts and sadly if you put 500 people in a room , many have dubious backgrounds whatever colour their politics

the scummers thing was used by both sets of fans for decades. It is only recently that Skates has come into play as I think NI started saying we should call them a different name. It was a bit schoolplayground when both sets of fans were singing scummer to each other, not that the new way is much different.Scummer reminds me of junior school when lads would try and think of a name to shout at a rival, that sounded rude but didnt want to use an expletive in case the dinner lady told you off.

I dont understand the posts about the atmosphere. I was listening on Solent and the support sounded magnificent and was commented by the commentators a few times. It may be where you were stood you couldnt hear the noise generated, I thought at first it was the home fans the noise was so load.

I wonder what compensation deal they got. No doubt Ho will come on and tell us what his mate at the club said they got.

his best results as a manager are when he has Joe Jordan with him. He didnt bring him to us when he left Pompey but he did bring that clown Bond. The rest is history. Joe Jordan is the man who gives HR the best advice
