  1. Just like the Toy salesman, as soon as it goes wrong they throw their toys out of the pram. Never did they get so het up when they were spending the money. It is just the football version of Greece, all happy and smiling until the gravy train stops and they have to pay the bill
  2. you forgot to mention how he was voted best keeper in the last 2 seasons by his fellow pros, apart from that he is of a course a c### keeper Lol
  3. Lol whooosh
  4. of course Trousers just puts up posts of no relevance to add to his total, which is a little bit off IMO
  5. I used to be top but Im slipping down the league. Even Pedg is above me now
  6. Don't be unkind.................to fuc.kwits. Im sure they wouldn't have anything to do with him
  7. I had forgotten that one lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this about MM. As for Ho's quotes the best were on Saints Forever but I assume they have been lost. All those days when they were signing players on massive wages and he was arguing that they could afford it out of Tv revenues.
  8. I notice you dont go back as far as MM. Do you not think that was also when strange things were going on? MM HR and his dog have been cleared in court and are innocent. In that period we had lots of discussions with your Mates on here and pointed out that you were in massive debt that was untenable. We had answers back that the Tv payments etc could cover the players wages, and when the sunday papers said you were 50m-100 in debt, it was sneered at. I never have like MM and would not touch him with a bargepole, he was very smart and deserted the ship before the s### hit the Pompey fans. BC is the man who saved your club and you cant see it. If it was not for his loan, Fratton Park would now be a like a Sinclair C5, something that was odd and laughed at, a bad idea and only weirdos likely to be seen in it.
  9. they wanted the world to listen to how they had been pilloried. Then some of them go on Twitter on the day the 96 were mourned to wish death and cancer on Mark Halsey the referee who dared to send one of their players off. No doubt it is a very small minority but there are some real saddos out there.
  10. Rallyboy asked if anyone still thought they had got away with it? I still do, they have had little pain compared to the glories they stole. Ho0w many really bad days have they had? 1 and a half seasons. Even in the CCC they had some good players and had a chance. They had 5 years at least of watching success and quality players, cup final appearances etc. If Bc comes backthey are safe and from there you never know what may happen, although if he keeps to spend what you earn they may suffer quite a bit more.
  11. All fair comments if the club had been on an even keel. We as a club were in a civil war. I dont wish to go over the old ground as it achieves nothing. Opinions are polarised and so it will just become another bun fight.....good fun but
  12. Very difficult decision. i recall in our relegation season Niemi being injured and Blayney(?) playing and making 2 howlers that gave WBA the point that ultimately saved them and us down. I agree KD has had a difficult start but the defenders in front of him have left him exposed to one on ones. A very brave decision to drop him and risk Gazza. Try changing Fox and see iif that side is shored up a bit.
  13. No Im not denying that he likes a drink, but it is distasteful that many spout about it on hearsay only.
  14. Have you looked at cobble matting? It is a fantastic system and different from all the other standard brick drives. When it is laid it looks like cobblestone. We had it done on our last property and would definitely use it again.
  15. 3m down is a long way to dig. I woud have thought with all the furore going on at the time one of the chief suspects with a pick and shovel, digging his drive may have given a clue. There again!
  16. There has only been one manager for Saints in over 40 years of supporting us who deserves the hatred Burleys gets on here and that is Branfoot. Has Burley ever been sacked for his drinking? Has there been photos of him drunk in a public place? In this age of camera phones it is quite surprising that such a prolific drunk has not been captured on camera. The Loch Ness monster has been pictured more often. Very few managers would have coped with the politics and unrest going on at the club at that time.
  17. yep Saints are the biggest football club on the South Coast, have been since the 60's
  18. Culling beavers does that count?
  19. i think some of your points are valid. Pompey for most of my life were just another Rochdale in the eyes of the media. Then came the great escape under Ball when you looked as though you going to be relegated to the old 3rd?division . To be fair to your support , the constant beating of the drum, bell and trumpet seemed to galvanise the team and you stayed up on the last day. Because you had only a small crowd at that time and in the main all joined in it caught on and when things started to improve the JCL's joined in as well. You got promotion and the media started to feed the stereotypical 'great fans' Stoke City have now taken over as the 'Greatest fans' in the medias eyes and as time goes by you will be the club that cheated but have a small core of great fans. The stadium you have is ideal to create a hostile atmosphere, but you are now finding that players in the lower leagues are used to poor facilities and so are not as intimidated as the big clubs were. The Dell is well recorded as the ground the big teams didnt like visiting for very much the same reason FP did. We moved and it has taken nearly 10 years for fans to realise that SMS is intimidating and creates tremendous atmospheres. I think of all games I have ever been to at home, Norwich in our relegation season was immense, the noise was incredible, some of the 'derby' games as well. The media always like the weirdos, just look at any pre-match preamble and the cameras outside the grounds are always looking for the village idiot to talk to, all clubs have them. Of course you are the world leaders in that, as you have made your biggest one the face of Portsmouth. Now you are back in the lower leagues your column inches are negligible and the 'bestest fans' tag is diminishing as you fade away. IMO Saints are not a big club, but they are the biggest in the South coast, and have been for decades. There was a tipping point under Hr, then if you had got your ground things may have been different. You spent your future on having a cup final team and unfortunately for you that does not mean much when you are broke and needed to be sold.
  20. have you given your mate Tony Lynham ,'who is the real deal' a call. he will take you to the promised land I can assure you of that
  21. Reading won the league by a canter, according to Appleton lol. At first i thought he was quite a good manager but as time goes on he seems to have headed far too many footballs
  22. it is about time you let your love of GH go. Your postings are getting much like the character in Alan Partridge where he had a shrine to him and freaked Partridge out
  23. I cant recall him commenting on this when his beloved Pompey got saved by it. We will happily accept it when/if the time comes.
  24. BC is pulling the wool over the FL's eyes, not that it takes much! That statement was brilliantly put together by a PR company, telling the Pompey hoards (!) how great they are etc etc and not to be scared of the big bad wolf. It also alludes to the fact that they will not be spending much on the squad, so how he will put a team out that competes on a low budget and still keep the 'loyal fans' turning up is a bit of a trick
  25. very sad, he was good on the TV
