  1. Having players in the England squad has been a curse, look what it did for MLT, Armstrong and BT. They were never quite the same afterwards
  2. is it not counter productive trying to get Appleton to go to WBA, the Skates will get a massive pay-off. i'd start to get Big Sam up the list. I dot want Pompey to get £1m payout for Appleton
  3. the media are showing themselves to be spoilt kids because they didn't get their way re the England job, todays Sun headline taking the mick out of Hodgsons speech impediment was pathetic. i have always defended the Sun as it it is fun, but the editor to allow that !!!!!!! As for Saints, the club is very professional IMO no leaks and so the media dont like it. They need the stories to sell their papers. Nc will stir them up but not because he is wrong.
  4. Surely that all stems from how the HMRC wanted to put an amendment in, that was outvoted
  5. what is the story? 'Outrage as Man marries outside of family bloodline'
  6. Duncan im sorry but you are wrong, I'm surprised you made a mistake there, it is not like you.It is Scott Hiley As for yesterday, I notice Meridian did the lead story of 3 Pompey players signing up to the Trust. Do they not realise how pathetic they who are taking massive wages from the club look as they sign? I also thought that Meridian were subtly putting pressure on TBH by mentioning him above all players there, it seems Pompey are trying to turn the screw to make life so bad for him that he will walk. Is it about time TB called Chanrais bluff and put them into liquidation? he keeps playing we are running out of money game, but now they have enough to June,it was not long ago when they weren't going to make the seasons end.
  7. I cant believe that other creditors come out at over 3m. Didnt they do credit checks before supplying goods and services!!!! I wondered all along why the caterers etc still were supplying stuff, i assumed that they were cash on delivery but apparently not.
  8. surely this will means clubs coming down from the PL will have an even bigger advantage?
  9. I think I held back a bit, but you get my drift
  10. TBH will go by 'mutual consent' if he finds another club to pay the wages he is getting now, (he may take a slight paycut just to get away of course) . i assume his agent is touting hm around but I suspect as soon as the clubs see what hwe is on they will run a mile. he is hardly a star player. If he cant find another club he will sit out his contract. I dont think Pompey could pay off his contract or even some of his contract. The deferred wages are a smoking gun, as I thought the players were deferring until the end of the season, that is soon. As for your fans, i agree that you are the darlings of the media, it must be great knowing that everytime Pompeyfans comes up, the first impression is of the goon with the bell. Such a proud thing to stnd behind. I have no doubt that the noise and animosity generated at FP is immense, this is due to the fact that all the higher league clubs have modern stadia and the fans are away from the pitchside. Quaint and backward, that could be aimed at many aspects of your club. You may hide behind your 'we dont want a pre-pack stadium' but in your heart of heart you know that until you get one you will again swim around the sewage pipes for decades, again awaiting a big turd to feed on. sadly you have gobbled most of them up, already eaten the s### and feasted until you have burst. Mackrill and Mero, i feel for you both, the rest of them on here, good riddance
  11. no, but if as the server says it is so busy leave it 10 minutes to log on I can see a problem getting them.I have appointments this morning and so cant spend much time doing this. I am at fault, I for the first time in 44years not been a regular and not got a s/t for 30years, not complaining, if I miss it the club are not to blame, it is just one of those things. As long as we go up it doesnt matter
  12. ive been trying to register since 7.40 and it is too busy for the site to allow.Looks like im stuffed to get any
  13. the WHU biased media will do their best to unsettle usc if it is down to the last game. Promotion is promotion so lets take it tonight. The nerves saturday would be unbearable and the team however professional wil be effected whilst the Civentry teams fate is sealed and they can go and play. Tonight please.
  14. I thnk TB statement a week or so ago mentioned loan fees in, i cant recall how much but it was in the region of 400k the lot.
  15. after the cost and time taken from work by a lot of people for the Peter Boro game, im not surprised that some again cannot go on another expensive day out. i suspect a lot of the critics are single and live at home fans, not with famillies to feed and support
  16. 30 year olds worth 100's of millions coming from nothing, does make you think.
  17. was that not a payment of 800k that was released in 4 200k payments that they have already received ,or is that an extra 9800k. it gets quite confusing. I would love to see Sullivan and Golds faces (if they are in the Play -offs)as they look at the accounts and see the loan money to PFC. A desperate attempt to keep them alive.
  18. Chris Burke Whittingham Dextor/ or the goalscoring midfielder Forest have
  19. I cant believe that Chaplow is getting stick....but then again we are talking Saints fans!!! His workrate and the way he broke up lots of P'boro attacks. He was a constant threat and whilst he is not the best at delivering a final ball, he does at least get there to do so and is by far the better option than SDR. RL did lots of quality play creating and holding up, no he dint have many attemptss at goal but the way he set up the third and his link up with AL was sublime. I shook my head in bewilderment when I saw KD being blamed for Readings goals, but there are always 'fans ' who are hiding in the shadows waiting to have a go. His save last night was wonderful (sadly they scored from the resulting corner) The whole team need applause and you could see they were up for it from the off. The fans even made Guly smile pre-match. Our support was magnificent Taunting the Boro fans with 'I've got a shed...' etc a bit off, don't forget where we were 10 years ago, I'm sure we don't want to be seen as big time Charlies. Finally I found the Peterboro stewards and anyone connected to the club superb and of all the away games i have been to the best ever.
  20. Just had an e-mail the headline A week of laughs at Jongleurs Portsmouth. You dont need jongleurs for that!!!
  21. lets hope Coventry are relegated before we play them, there i was hoping we could lose to send the skates down lol
  22. To me Reading seem to fluke results, but they do it too many times for it to be a fluke. Away to WHU, BHA and us, they have been battered but won all three. That makes them deserved champions. I back the manager but I dont get his decisions, Sharp should have been taken off and Guly put up alongside RL to give us something different. Guly has scored qwuite a few this season and is sadly some fans whipping boy. Chaplow was missed when he was injured and has now been put in the team on the wing, not where he was earlier in the season when he was more effective and scoring. Note that Cork who is in his position has not scored. As for SDR, how anyone can make him MOtM is beyond me, did he do anything telling? yes he ran back after knocking our defender over and getting the ball off Roberts but creatively i cant recall a dangerous ball. After an ight of bad sleep and reliving the game over in my head im still agitated. The last 2 home games, 6 real attacks and 5 goals conceded!!! Jason Roberts was a master signing, apart from him Reading were just average, he is their talisman and whilst Le Fondre scored 2 well taken goals, Roberts is the reason they won last night.
  23. basically Chanrai will be back, throwing good money after bad, there is no way he will allow the 17m to be written off and so may buy the club in the last minute as TB is about to liquidate. By then the players with high wages will be shown the door by Birch.
  24. perhaps he ought to invite Neil Allen from the Pompey news Lol. NC is rightly getting good news put out about our club. In the long term football fans in Asia , USA ETC wont give a toss about what the Echo says about us or even some of our national press. If we are to develop into what NC and ML had envisaged they will have their eyes set on worldwide exposure and will cultivate good news press from friends. I cant ever see us as a major name in the world of football but it seems to me ML did, and we are at the very beginning of a longterm project. Whether it is a pipe-dream time will only tell, but it could be fun or complete humiliation.
  25. Birch will start to get edgy as soon as the money looks very close to running out. There is no way he will risk having to pay the shortfall as an administrator. Reading his words it seems that the transfer window opens as soon as the season ends. Therefore a firesale will happen then. of course he has to wait until after the playoffs and so that is another couple of weeks tagged on
